Bones Weep Tedium- thanks, nah its markers, fine liners and a sharpie, lighting isnt too great though there wasnt a definite light source to make it obvious, i'll maybe create one myself next time

FactorZero- Thanks hmm yeah its definitely missing something, i guess i should play around with it some more

Maestro Andres- Thanks yeah i know what you mean about the lines, ive been meaning to find some kind of tutorial for changing colours on just selected lines not just the line layer as a whole

Not much of an update- i like the idea for this but not its execution-Some doodle from very late last night and this morning- with a lame ass hand, wonky face etc etc- its my STYLE joke joke, note to self- dont draw such sucky hands and such generic people ( well generic for me!)
thought i would post it anyway

It's really hard to crit something so stylized I can't exactly tell you the necks too long and you should go to some life drawing, can I?

I like it. Do you work onto brown paper or is that a texture you apply in potatochop? I like her tattoo design, but I don't really get the sense of it bending around the column of her neck- maybe you could draw the tattoo seperately, and then use PS's warp tool to make it fit closer?

Heya Fran! Haven't popped by in a while. Your line work is looking superb and I like your latest few characters. Don't really know what to suggest atm, but I hope the course is going well!

Why do I keep thinking "france" while looking at your art?
    It looks french.

I really like you avatar it caught my eye. I also like the piece you did of yourself. I really do not know how to critique this. Am I supposed to? I'll leave that to more seasoned artists...

Franbo, i like this image, but i have a few hoo hars which i've summed up in a handy paint over here.
Also the frame annoys me a bit, with your drawing already on an angle and one earing in the wind it presents tangent nightmares. I'd suggest putting the bits of hair and other earring in the wind or leaving it out altogether. also i changed the crop on the hand.
Hope some of that helps, i may not be technically awesome, but i know a tiddly bit about illustration with style... hopefully.
And as i said on MSN, i LOVE the birdy.

Oooh, I love the progression with your work. I haven't had the time to read every post but are you looking to get into fashion illustration? You have a really fresh sketchbook and it's a nice change to look at.

Bones Weep Tedium- hey, thanks yeah i agree about the tattoo on the neck, i might just leave it for now though and maybe draw another character similar but better!

    Quicksilver- Tarr Gnomie

Diphallia- hehe ta! i'll take the french bit as a compliment thanks for stopping by!

Richard Rigney- thanks, glad you like

    Badger- Cheers joshiejoshjosh much appreciated!

Bones Weep Tedium (again hehe) - Umm im not too sure about the hand myself, it was supposed to be bent, but i think josh's solution makes more sense. something to put into consideration next time!

Eric Cartman- thanks for stopping by! Yup i use fineliners most often

Sketch- Thanks umm im not too sure where i'm heading atm, its possibly something i could go into as that type of thing does interest me, and i guess a lot of my drawing tends to be in that sort of direction, but who knows i have uni to go through until i decide some more

Bristol meet last night with Badger and Lorenzo!
Was coming to the end of my last sketchbook so i invested in a moleskin which is really nice!
1.Heres the dreaded first page sketch which is a bit poo as its impossible to draw anything good when breaking in a new sketchbook i've decided! There were about a million other things on this page which i erased before i happened upon this strange random creature which is why its looking particularly grubby- its reached its eraser limit!

    2. Fruits study and curly haired plaid girl

Quicksilver thanks Naomi- nope not quite like that, i guess its a style i've been dipping into often, maybe would be cool if i did a full body sketch of her

Crush- Thanks Foundation is going fine ta, whatre you up to this year?

Dadushin- Thanks, no the t shirt i took to a local graphics store who printed it up for me, im not quite sure how they did it, as i left it there and went back to pick it up when it was done. I might make some more designs though. We dont have the best print facilities in college, the best method i could get from college is probably screen printing, but the ink there isnt very good

London Tube Station for an environment project for college, some bits in it are looking a bit scrappy i think

    C+C welcomed

I dont really have much to update with as i've had a lot to do for college, and also been working on Last Man standing 3 entry. But heres a couple of bits and bobs anyway. nothing much exciting!

    1. Textiles lesson -'Naked Brian' the Lifemodel
    2. New York
3.For my 3D project we had to make a mask- We took plaster casts of our face, latex casts and then had to make a mask from this initial work. So my mask is actually molded to my face ( apart from the bit below the nose ) so its quite 3D which isnt quite obvious in this pic- i chose to make a leapord so this is me wearing the mask- could have been a lot lot better, but i stayed up late the night before to make it last minute!
I'll hopefully have some more to update with soon

I really gotta say....Ink and watercolor are really your best mediums. That subway pic is great. I would good as a print or poster. I'd like to see pencil sketches more often from you.

Haha, I love that mask! I tried to make a panda mask myself with tin foil & paper mache. fail.

I loove the girls you draw, with the ink & watercolors

Yah, your ink and watercolours rule! It inspires me to start putting some colour with my inks. Mask is fun too!

FactorZero- Thanks at the moment i need to finish up an environment project for college amongst other things, but as soon as im done with that, ill get some more pencils going

    Anthriel- Thanks

28ChelseaSlater- Thanks I used paper mache too, but instead of using the mulchy kind of stuff i did it with squares of newspaper layered on with glue and water, then a layer of kitchen roll on the outside. I love your Plushies though! Amazing!

    Sketch- Thankyou, im glad!

Not much to update with, been having to do loads of research and other crap for college, but i did this today for textiles- the tension on the machine was dodgy so he stitching came out balled and loose again, even so i still quite like it! ( we sewed over paper, and this was the underside ( which is why its reverse)which i preffered, but i sewed the friggin corner down! >__> Its all part of the design its all part of the design! hehe)
Also included the sketch it was based on which ive posted earlier on in my sketchbook somewhere..

posts 612 and 616 have very good drawings. match the background lines with the definition of the sailorboy(?), because right now is too disociated.
the "anarchist" color sheme in the subway make a nice composition.

thanks for the comments on my sb.

    have fun and keep working

Looking good franbo, relate everything to your horizon line in your enviros, always have a ruler handy it'll help with comparison even if you are bending perspective.
    I still like this

Great SB! The peacock piece = very nice! (Borat voice... nevermind)
To give a crit... is hard, because all I can really say is more anatomy and proportions and studies, and we've all heard it a million times but.. It still applies. So I can really just say that I like your cartoon/graphic/realism style, and your drawings are very cute!

Oh and you're cute too. (Creepy voice)
