Thanks guys. Finally done with the 100 COW, but it looks like the poll's not quite up yet. I'll post higher res versions of my favourite ones once the poll goes up, but here's the sketches for em. Also a bit of figure drawing and a doodle.

COW 100 is up! freaking crazy contest, insane just to browse through. Now I can finally get sleep again. If any of you want to get better at digi painting in a hurry, bust out 100 fully rendered thumbnails in a month. Learned a ton. So many great entries to look at.

Thanks Jens. I think I'll probably go back into it a bit, got a photo before the pose was over. Always working on edges and stroke control, hard stuff. Anyways, forgot to post this figure drawing yesterday.

real cool stuff nice subtle shadows on the bearded guy with the beanie
that last figure is coming along nicely, the head however does seem to large which also has to do with the width of the neck..the body and head seem separated...awesome rendering of the upper body though
    other figures are awesome too

    keep it going man!

[B]Fish[B] thanks man! Actually doing enough work where there's stuff to update. Well sort of, I guess the last posts were mostly riding on the COW, and this one too!

Dadushin Awesome crit, I feel like a dork for not noticing the neck when I was drawing.

Anyways, here's the full size of my favorite thumbnails, looking back at em they're a bit rough compared to all the kickass guys who entered the 100 COW, but i learned a ton and had fun.

Fish- thanks man. Yeah learned alot, then looked around and realized there's still a lot more I don't know.

Here's the finished design for the poster, ended up having to throw the text elements on myself, which sucked cuz I'm really rusty at graphic design.

JARhead- thanks man, Learned a bunch of stuff lately and am just trying to use it before I forget it, if that makes any sense.

Here's a painting from life where I got to set up the model. If I painted this pose again I'd probably change the comp a bit, making the girl smaller and higher in the painting.

Man I missed quite a couple of updates, but have to say good stuff on those thumbnails The poster turned out great too, but I think you could get much nicer fonts than those, especially on the White Rock text.. Check out this free font database if you have the time, theres some really cool stuff! www.1001freefonts.com

    Cheers!

This is a pretty cool SB you've got here mate. Your life studies are top notch!
Your oils are great as well but it seems like you have a different approach to your digital stuff, not as confident maybe?
I love the way you handle your pencils, lose and confident, the way I like it ^^

Keep it up, I can see a very nice development.

    Cheers

Very solid body of work here, and having ficked through a couple of your earlier pages the improvement is massive! I like how you handle portraits in oil, the way you use any colour going yet manage to pull out forms and shadows. The digital work for me isn't as strong, but I'm guessing that'll come with the more time you spend with it... the poster piece came out well, though I'd have liked to have seen some other kinds of brush strokes than just the square edged ones in the main characters. Lovely anatomy/life drawing too, I envy you the ability to do that!

Oh and dur, I forgot to say best of luck in the upcoming battle!

Yeah... so I was hoping for a niiice, and easy first round. Kind of get warmed up and into things, and then I go and get matched against you, and zepheri, and freakin' PoshSpice... Dang it! You guys are gonna make me work, aren't you?

Seriously, though. You've got some really nice stuff going on here, and I'm really looking forward to utterly crushing (I mean competing in a gentlemanly manner against) you. Good luck!

Haven't posted up work lately cuz I've been busy as heck. Schoolteachinginternshipwork taking up way to much of my time.

Ikuru- Thanks man, glad you like it.

Sirio- Awesome, thanks for that site, I'll use it next time I have to do a poster.

Buckster- Thanks a lot! Still working on digital. There's definitely a disconnect for me between illo and life studies, I'm trying to bridge it together.

Zephyri- thank you! I'm working on that stuff when I go up against you in the LMS

KingCoyote- I'll make all of you work... IN HELL!!!!1!! muahahahaha

a few more. Drawing musicians is awesome, I highly reccomend it, it's fun in itself even if your art turns out like arse. More life and a few coffeeshop drawings.

Also, I get to put up all my life stuff in a small gallery for a week!

New figures are looking rad.... cheekbone area looks weird in some of them though - might want to do a few studies or something (I know I do.) Congrats on the gallery!

    Joakimart- Thx alot man

Fishspawn- Thx for the crit. Yeah I hear ya, still working on, well, everything heheh

Rex- Thx, trad is lots o' fun.

Ghoulio- you're welcome! Thx for stopping by.

D@niel- thx man, really appreciate the big red handprint on my ass . Now just gotta get back to illustrating more stuff.

This is probably my last batch of figure drawings for a while, as I am getting my BFA in a couple of days! It'll be nice to get paid for work instead of paying to work.

Herald Chow needs a bit more fiddling with the background and could be tightened a bit if I have time, still have the Queen and LMS, so it'll be a while before I get that together.

I took some photos of a couple of friends I was showing my gallery setup too. Didn't get any photos of the opening, too busy talking to everyone. Two walls had nicely spaced paintings, while I decided to go salon style with the figure drawings, covering up the other two walls.
