Sweet, thanks Jens and Dave. Another update. some older paintings (the big chair and guy with the short legs, guy leaning on a table), a better pic of the toga painting, a complex enviro painting color study that got cut short, and two big illo studies of cliffs and the guy jumping off them.

wow lots of paintings O.O;; it's really impressive, and the colors are all really interesting. some of the proportions are off (they look short) but overall it's amazing.

on the cd cover, i would maybe push some of the darks in the lips...also the nose seems kinda tilted, but it's prolly too late to fix that.

Thanks guys, thanks for the crits, and I'll use the asspats as a chaser . The band liked the poster, but requested a few changes, so I've got time. Some more figure drawing. Getting into the bad habit of measuring less, got to suck it up.

Some more portrait studies. First one was 40 min, and the other two were a couple of hours. Still not painting the way that I want to, have to remedy that.

Hey bro... thanks for the crit, I agree some of the dudes in the scene are kinda stiff... I think your like the first person to crit that fight scene so thats pretty cool. Your prolific dude! You seem to be painting and drawing your ass off, way to go... I definitely echo the loose line sentiment others have mentioned. Your work would come across much clearer if you didn't stroke each line haphazardly. Your figurative paintings are looking quite nicely though. Keep it up brothuh

Pencil sketches looking much better - really love those colored pencils. Painting looking good too, although I think your values are too jumpy sometimes. Awesome works, keep it up

Thanks for the crits guys. I'm moving home for the summer, so updates will be sporadic for a bit as all my supplies are in storage. Tried last weeks CHOW but didn't make it in time. Here's a wip of where I'm at right now for the fallen Valkyrie.

Love the silhouette effect in that one But because its got that going, i think you should tilt the weapon more either way so it doesn't look like a part of the wing, unless that's what you were going for. Great job Looking forward to the next update.

Hey man, that WIP is great! Only issue I feel is that she looks a bit manlish, mainly because the chest isn't visible so the upper body resembles a triangle rather then an X. It could be a good thing, but then again it can be mistaken for something androgenous (is this right word?).

Hey, been a while. You're developing a quite nice painterly approach. To cure some of the excess mark making and boxing of form try a different painting medium (like watercolor) and work more broadly around your surface not just expressively within the positive space.

Thanks for the crits, haven't posted in a while, been busy with work. Here's the latest CHOW, challenged Trevor, but I think his entry rapes mine.

the only problem i see with your latest CHOW is that the mammoth isn't outlined but the girl's face is pretty harsh with the black all around her hairline. also i think her boobies are a bit low =P

nice design sketches in the last post!

i see a problem with the girl on the right's device, it seems like it's at the wrong perspective somehow. Also with the petticoat cape type thingy that the girl on the left is wearing, it drapes on the top part but not at the very bottom, which is kind of strange.

anyways the design is awesome esp the feet.

Awesome job on the fur on that mammoth I like the colors on the navigator, but they both look like they are off-balance. That could be a good thing i guess - crazy navigators that know exactly where they're going but can't walk straight... Anyway, just saying in case you didnt notice. Keep putting out them updates!

Fishspawn said when he said the navagators dont seem ballanced. The chick seems like she is walking forward the way her weight is shifted yet her back leg is planted, you should raise the heal to show that she is walking. On the guy it just seems like the top of his ribcage needs to be shifted back a touch, he seems to vertical. Also his legs seem to angle forward from the hips to the feet. When you stand up straight your hips should be shifted forward towards the from of your feet.

I really like the designs though, really cool. Also your life drawing are looking really cool, I especialy like the toned paper with color ones

    cheers

Hey Blue, nice to see you post again .
http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...hmentid=178975 this one is probably the best one in your update, I like the way you rendered him out.

I like the right profiled girl in the new post. Her hair looks good although I think the neck's a fraction too long.

cool designs! esp the guy in the middle. about the girl...remember shirts don't cup boobs...except in comics. dunno if you were going for realism tho

btw i was just thinking as i was scrolling through...your life paintings have such color, but a lot of time your digital paintings are kind of greyish-toned...you should try to make some of your paintings as colorful ^^

Remember that i find it easier to crit doodles in bulk than finished work, so feel free to pile on the daily stuff! I do notice a trend towards bigger eyes of some of your newer stuff, i don't know if thats intentional or not - it kind of ruins the yelling guy though. Sorry for not posting in here more often, i just have a hard time finding crits when the updates are far apart. Keep up the hard work!

some stuff I've been meaning to post but haven't First is a sculpt from life modelling last spring, couldn't keep it because they neede the armatures again, so took some photos.

The first painting I did for a fundraiser to preserve the cabins at Hahns Peak Village, The second one for an event in Fort Collins, and the third is a quick study of my brother Paul for a larger painting.
