I'm not sure I quite understand what you're asking semoet. I know the translation is difficult (I run into the
same problem when I post on non-English websites). Could you rephrase your question?

The mouth isn't actually that deep, it just appears that way once the paint is applied. I just make a normal
one-piece mold which I cut open with a sharp scalpel and remove the original head from. Hope this helps!

Troy M8 you are just too awesome!

This is beautifulI love the base.

Do you cook the armature with the small amount of sculpey on first then add the detail?

I can safely say I have never read a 24 page thread in it's entirety before. It's thanks to you I was late for work after 3 hrs of late night reading and examining the detail of your sculpts!

TroyBoy you are an inspiration, thanks so much for taking the time out to update this with yet another corking piece of work, the muscle detail is something else - believe me it's very much appreciated.

Ha! Thanks BS, you're too kind! That's actually Magic Sculpt on the armature.
It's an epoxy putty and it's far more durable than Super Sculpey.

Hi Semoet! Most of my projects lately have been private commissions, so I
haven't had a lot of time to do my own creations. Like every other sculptor
out there, I've got a ton of concepts in my head that I'd love to do, but for
now, I gotta pay the bills! Sometimes I wait until I'm all finished to post the
pictures and sometimes I post the W.I.P. pics to show my own process. Hope
    this helps!

Ha! Well, I apologize for making you late to work, but I'm glad you enjoyed
the thread! My goal in starting this ridiculously long thread was to show my
own progression and hopefully help anybody just getting started or without
a ton of sculpts under their belt who needed the occasional pointer. I'm not
the best sculptor out there (I'm not even in the top 10,000), but I've learned
some tips and tricks along the way that I'm only too happy to pass along.

    Thanks again Lloydy!

Troyboy ,Freaking awesome man!! I had not checked the forum in a while and cannot believe what crazy skills you've developed.I though your work was incredible a while back but you can see how refined and polished your pieces are now.
I am extremely envious but inspired.Thanx for sharing.

Troy I have followed this post since the beginning and it was one of the reasons I signed up for this forum.
Your work is impressive and without a doubt one of the best I've seen on this category.

This is just oozing details from it's pores:

The natural wear and tear on the boots
The shield type design on the satchel
The 'foam' padding for the helmet neck section
The way the buckler on the right arm actually cuts into the cuff of the jacket

Oh god but I could go on and on.................
    Well done.

So, where will your imagination take you today?...

Hey gang! Been keeping my nose to the grindstone and I just thought I'd share
some pics (links to larger pics below each image). Figured I'd post them all in
one thread so as not to be a total forum . Thanks for looking!

Next week I'll have new updated pics of:

    • Hawkman bust (OOAK for client "R")
    • Remaining Ninjas for my Wolverine vs. Ninjas piece (contact spawnyvsbatman)
    • finished Clint Eastwood from The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (for Robb of Dark Carnival)
    • painted Frogman
    • painted Yellowjacket
    • the concept art and some rough armatures for a BIG, long overdue to-be-done, team
I'm going to be doing busts of

I've got a bunch of other projects I'll be immediately following up after all of these, but I
don't want to start listing or showing anything until I get these projects all wrapped up
first. Thanks to all my clients for all their patience and understanding with my hectic schedule!
