great job on your anatomy studies! your scans are suddenly looking a little weird, what happened? proportions look good on both Alex and Ivy.

I too got that exact same sketchbook. I love it, the pages in that thing are great to draw in and can take infinite abuse. Best sketchbook evar. To bad it's kinda small tho, even the largest one. Well whatever... I think you should focus some excercises on line quality. Making it right from the start. In these ballpoint sketches the way you draw the same lines over and over again at some places isn't looking real good. You seen Scott Robertson's Gnomon DVDs? They are geared to industrial design, but he has an excercises that I'd think you'd benefit from. He plans out two points on a paper and tries to draw a straight line between them, hitting both dots. And sometimes he plans out three dots and tries to make a curve that goes thru all three. Those excercises might be a little boring, and you don't get anything finished to show by doing them. But I think they're good for improving your lines and really start thinking about how and where to put which lines in your drawings to make them look good. yah.

jah! that's a great excercise boogie. I'm gonna try that right away. I go over the lines a lot because I didn't use an under pencil sketch. Drawing with a pen is a great way to improve your lines because you have to be conservative.

The overlay things you are doing look very interesting and I'll bet they help a ton. Not too much to crit here. Anatomy is looking solid. Just hang in there and keep working hard. Peace man.

Hey dude, thanks for stopping by my SB. I am not quite sure where the links to those PDFs are. Cup of Joe said there was a previous thread somewhere on CA that contained those. Good luck finding those. Maybe someone whose been here awhile can help out. As always, keep working hard

I don't know, you probably intended it that way, but her face looks a bit "flat" to me (lacking depth). This in contrast to her body, where you can clearly see all the curves and creases in her clothing.
Other than that, looking good, I like the bright colors

This might not be correct, but it's how I'd do it.
Master 25 Days: 7 times down 8 times up.

I changed some stuff with the legs, mainly around the knees, and did some remodeling of the right side of her hip/abdomen.

the right arm bugs me. she looks like an amputee. u have to add a gradient tone to make the shoulder pop forward. ie. continue the core shadow that comes off of her breasts to her shoulder then back light the upper arm. it doesnt really matter wat just push that arm back. seperate it.

and boggie is right about the knees.

your studies are looking really good too.

    keep at it.

I like the way you gave her a bit wider hips. I think it lends more to believability. I agree with Obx about the arm.

hey thx for the paint over boogie. The small knees are intentional but the abdomen and the hip I totally goofed on. good call on the arm too, OBX.

Think you need to work on accuracy and line quality a little.

Good work on the elbow fix up there. Well... skinny knees are fine, but shapeless knees are not. Here's my crappy drawover.

I like the overall shading on the guy with the eyepatch, you made all the muscles stand out without overdoing them too much... Nice work

Your anatomy studies are looking good. Next up maybe you wanna cover collar bones. Take a look at this. I think you should show some more of the bone and muscle structure of the neck and sternum when you're drawing a fit woman with a lot of cleavage like your last sketch. Other than that, it's hot!

I think most of us added it to our ref folder, lol. Thank you Boogie! Studies are looking good Master. I don't know what the comment on the last pic means but i think its a pretty good sketch. It has character which i feel is just as important as anatomy and proportion. Look at any cartoon character you like and you'll usually find it is more how the artist conveyed their character that appeals than how perfect the anatomy was. Good job!! I think it may be time for me to start doin some coloring again!!
