    Dile, thanks a lot!

Well, I haven't been completely slacking...or so I will say.

Here's the point I reached prior to Christmas Break on the OFDW 020:

    Roughly colorized version:

I enjoyed having some down time to read a little about Rubens' training as an artist - I have the exhibition catalogue, "Rubens, Master in the Making" and it's a nice collection of essays and very good reproductions of his work. I guess I hadn't realized the extent to which he was influenced by the Italians, but he made several trips to Italy and copied directly from Roman sculpture and from the work of Michelangelo.

    Bastard.

    Cheers and Happy New Year!

    Stunning as ever.

The 'tetrode' is quite intriguing. is this
    the book you mentioned?

just found this . nice SB....love to see anyone working so hard at learning. Its encouraging and the progress as I go throught the pages is very visible.

one note on your color work. All you surfaces look super shiny like satin. Even satin absorbs light at some angles. The horn looked like satin. Im not sure technically what one would do about it.

    Good work, great observation.

I admire how much energy you capture in these anatomy studies. Those darks really punch out the forms! Its these kind of sketchbooks that makes me enthusiastic about life drawings and anatomy. Thanks very much!
