I'd like to see the same thing matt smith requested.

The hacky sack illos are kewl. Watch how you construct the folds though. They look too stiff. On the first one the folds in the shirt doesn't have a thrust point, it's going up but nothing is pulling on it. You gotta extend the fold all the way to the root of the thrust. If you stop short, you create a new point of thrust which isn't realy there. On the 2nd one the top looks like a tighter fitting shirt but the bottom is looser than it should be.

WOW i appreciate all of ur comments. I definately agree i need to work on more anatomy. Tomarrow i'm going to another life drawing session. I'm going to try some colored canson paper so i can highlight with a white pencil. I've never done it before and i've seen some others do it with some neat results. As far as the Marilyn pic goes, they are using the cutout today. I had a few photos taken while i was working on it and then tonight i'll get a pic of the final image then i can post them maybe late tonight but probably tomarrow. The hacky sack storyboards; well they could definatly use some work. I had to do them right there in class with no reference and then go down to the computer lab to render them. I ended up with like seven of them in oh about three hours or so. Here are a few more from that project.

I finally got some pics of the Marilyn project. I don't really like it to much because i was so rushed. I basically painted this in a total of about 8-10 hours.

Here's the rest of the hacky sack tutorial storyboards. Again, another rush job. I had to do all seven of these in class in about three hours or so. I am definately feeling pushed latley to break out of my normal comfort zone of super detail that takes a long time. Hopefully i can come up with a style that is quick but still satisfies my desire for detail.

great stuff. that marilyn munroe pic is nice! just doesnt seem to pop tho. i think its the colors, makes it look like it was a cloudy day out. mind u that picture with u in it has better contrast than the others. so i kinda take that back.

lol u afraid to touch the face? just go for it, dont humm and haaa. remember if it fucks up, u can always try try again.

haha Obx thanks! No i'm not afraid, i wasn't supposed to do the face. It's a cut out, you know the things you stick your face in and someone takes a pic. I have a pic of some people who stuck their head through it already!! Funny stuff! I'm an ugly ass Marilyn Monroe.

the marilyn project looks fine as it is right now. But if you were to work it more, you should add more hues and values to it to make certain parts lay back and certain parts pop out more.

Today i had my midterm for storyboarding class. We had to storyboard a 30 second commercial. We could use a real or made up product or service. I decided it would be fun to do a Rent-a-Ninja commercial. The teacher liked them and i got an A. The next project we have a lot more time for so they will be more detailed than these. Here are the first half of the storyboards.

hey pcler i like your comic. I think you could use soem details to dress up your set a bit and the ninja's poses could be more dynamic. Especially in the smoke bomb throwing. Otherwise the actions read well. I noticed when he jumped down, his sword is on his back. But in the next panel its on his waist. Then the next one when he's slashing the guy, his sword is still sheathed.

ON page 1 panel 2. Are those perspective lines? because the bottom of the building and the grass doesn't receed to the same vanishing point. Also on the same page in the 1st and 2nd panel, I think the walking animation could use some lean. her arms should swing in rhythm with her feet as she walks. I think beween the 1st and 2nd panel there could be some time elapse too so her feet aren't in the same position in both panels.

awesome work man. Always looking fwd to see more.

thanks for the awesome tips master! I will definately keep those in consideration on the next project. Those lines in panel 2 are camera movement lines to show that we are to zoom in to the muggars face on the next panel. These are storyboards for a 30 second commercial and i've dicovered they use a lot more arrows to depict movement rather thatn the comic spped lines i'm used to.

Yet another 3D project. As much as i really am not passionate about 3D i seem to be getting a little better at it. I can see myself using 3D to enhance illustrations but i still don't think i want to be a 3D animator. Enjoy

if u wanna do animation or comics, 3d is gonna be the way to go, they use it soo much now. i mean y draw the background wen u can just render the lines in a 3d prog? it will only empower u to know it. and doing sculpture is an excellent way to study form.

This is a production illustration for another movie project. i guess this scene is eventually going to be made in 3D

Kinda looks like the final scene in episode III.

I've been so busy lately it seems that everything i do is a project of some kind. I decided that it was important to make some time for freedrawing and painting. So today before i got started on the deatil work i did a quick speed paint in PS. I wanted to do something fast and loose so i did this little spidey pic while looking at a poster on my wall. I think it took about 15-20 min. and it's pretty crappy but i feel a lot better about getting to work on jobs and stuff. I also discovered i really need to get a bigger tablet. I've had this 4x5 penpartner for over five years!! haha anyway here's a Spidey Speed paint

nice work! what's with the white stuff on the buildings? Are you using the bucket tool? shame! WHen you do spiderman, try to put some bend in his torso so he's more dynamic.

haha no i didn't use the bucket tool!!I used the wand to select the background. It's been a while since i painted and i didn't start from back to front. i could have made a layer or cleaned it up but i really didn't care i just wanted to throw it down. Your right about the torso tho, i can't seem to draw for shit on this old wacom. It's actually easier for me to draw it by hand and then scan it in. i used my friends tablet and it was SOOO much smoother. Anyway thanks for the crit my man!!

I like the 3D stuff. Just did my first model in 3 years last night and realized it's not quite as easy as I remembered.. And your stuff is alot more advanced than mine, so props on that In your spidey speedie, his right lef (the one coming toward us) looks like it's detached from his body.
