These head sketches have very good proportions and expressions. You must have done lot's of studies.
Self portrait is great too but something bothers me about shadows on forearm. It looks a bit flat.

    Cheers.

That self portrait looks great. Lighting looks tricky but you pulled it off pretty well. For dramatic effects, I would pump up the contrast more but it looks fine right now. You should post the photo to go along with it too.

sorry i havent had access to my comp so i couldn't upload anything...um, it's not much but here is what i have - i drew a rough sketch for the cotw but never got around to fixing it and coloring it for the actual submission...thinking i might actually finish this piece though. basically his imaginary elf char is "guiding" him through the game (it's a bad scan but she's pointing)

@Sepulverture: thanks, i think i commented in yours.

@cartoonfox: ummmm i think that your anatomy work is better than mine >.< but i suppose i will accept an asspat from you if you're talking about the bleach fanart sketches, those are digital but i originally was going to make the whole piece look like a pencil drawing.

@evildisco: thanks...yeah...my anatomy proportions are horrible.

@Onir: for the head sketches, those are referenced (mostly loosely) from the first girl's (haha, and most of my sketches ended up being guys) photos in "facial expressions". it's a GREAT photo book that i got to help me work with drawing more exciting emotions and also to help my anatomy work.

@Zhengpeng: thanks, i tried to get unusual head poses to get the chars in the overall sketch to look more interactive and fun. about the thumb...yeah...my thumb does that. i tried to fix it but i guess i still need to lower it some.

@HEROIC: i thought i mentioned it being from a photo b/c i had to do it really quick before class (i've been sick and couldn't do it from observation like i wanted to...in my last sketchbook thread you can see a sp i did from observation)...but after posting on a few forums i guess i forgot to add that. here is the FUGLY ref pic i used i wish i could say i got all prettified for it but i basically woke up and drew it ^^ AND you can see my thumbs DO do that weird broken look thingy...>.<

@Farvus: thanks, yeah, i had to draw them quite a few times before i liked what i saw. about the arm in my sp...agreed. if i had more time i'm sure i woulda worked on it.

@Master 25 Days: I shoulda pushed the contrast but I was afraid it would look too much like I worked from a photo if I did it too much.

@glikster: haha, you copied my post with the uzi!!! lately i haven't done enough anatomy practices...*sniffs*

Lol, I've been staring at that thumb and tried to reconstruct it. I came to the conclusion that its possible if you put a lot of weight on it ^^. Ok I just have to find a doctor to return it to its original position >.<

That sketch you made is actually pretty good. The expressions are very strong, but omg that much vet oO.

I dig the elf character's face expression. Interesting composition. I can't wait to see this piece finished.
