your painting is coming along very nicely. look forward to the finished product. one crit, the feet are shown in almost complete profile...being that your legs are resting on the globe the lower leg would be forshortened and the feet would be turned more toward a frontal view with a bit of the bottoms of the feet showing.

nice sense of light and value, very dramatic.

    draw!

hey hp, nice wips so far; personally I like first one better (I'd assume that's the one with higher contrast), darks are darker and such (which makes sense I guess). Your lighting seems to be omnipresent in a way and it kinda looks like there are multiple light sources (one to her left, and one to her right.. maybe one from above as well).. not sure if that was what you were going for. looks good over all though; nothing I can really crit on as you already seem to be pointing alot of things out yourself. good luck

To me the legs in your last painting look quite good. I only see that the right shoe doesn't have any shading so it looks flat.

    Oh.. and one more thing.

    Update!!!

sorry for not updating...i'm taking maymester right now which is basically a semester's worth of work crammed into two weeks, and i got two jobs

the last thing i drew in my sketchbook, which was i think, during my last class like in the end of april >.<

some notes i drew on during my maymester class. yeeeeeah i always end up drawing either bleach/naruto or my roommate/her cat or typical UTD nerds when me and my roommate draw back and forth. ^^

hey nice update and welcome back a semester worth of work in two weeks? ouuch that's rough well good luck to ya with it, I'm sure you'll pull through alright... the faces and such in the first picture look great! really nice shading on those, I especially like the girl holding the gum/cigarrette/whatever it may be to her mouth, great form and look to her. nice doodle page afterwards as well hehe, always interesting to see what other people doodle while in class/at work. the lady holding the paintbrush (I assume that's a paint brush at least) looks cool, nice and clean lines. keep it up and another welcome back

hehe, that lady holding the paintbrush is holding a little kakashi doll >.<

anyways, thanks for the comments! the class is basically over, only one more class period on tues. it's really easy because humanities is pretty basic.

more notes i drew on in class lmao...some with pen, some with pencil...sorry for the lined paper i know it's not really postworthy but some of it is fun at least ^^

and btw these are almost all done in basically complete darkness...my teacher thinks it's cool to turn off the lights while we take notes blargh! good news is i've been reading (if not drawing, at least i'm reading it!) loomis again. basically i draw the muscles all down and outline the basic form, then just practice drawing in pencil over and over right below.

Nice to see you posting again. Even doodles on lined paper are worth posting if they look good (If the lines have some colour, you can always remove them in photoshop .

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/5333/sb3qb.jpg - The face in the bottom lef corner caught my eye. Fantastic rendering. The hair looks really realistic.
I also dig the muscle and face features studies. Good job.
