Dude how you "feel like a taco"? Good job with the pen drawings, I've drawn with ballpoint a couple times but everything I do always come out crap. It's that line confidence thing... The second and fourth image in your last update, is that pen too? Looks hot.

try drawing smaller noses on females man. have you got any tone paper around? Try using some so you can add white for highlight, otherwise you can shade in the midtone and erase the highlights, but thats hard to do for small highlights. I like the person with the long hair in the last pic.

a little barscay study, THis is taking alot of time, theres just so much information to process when looking at the reference. -I hate running out of paper, oh well i dont think u want to see asses anyway. Still having trouble shaping out the forms with the stroke lines. The stroke lines always end up blending together. If i go too hard it looks ugly. Maybe im over doing it.

I took the paintchat for a spin too. And Jason & Android dropped by . They didn't draw nothing and they only stayed around for 10 seconds. But still, thought it was cool Your paint was still around when they dropped by so they saw that one. Btw it's awesome. How long you spent on it?

wow man I gotta give that paintchat thing a try, sounds neato. Your back muscles show good commitment but try to single out and study a certain small section at a time so it'l be less overwhelming. less to process. let's set up a timeee and have a powwow.

Very intense painting, very powerful. Certainly an improvement over the previous version, can't wait to see it finished.

Nice drawings Kresh. Even though you may not like your slightly-less-than-perfect figures from memory I think they show a lot of style and knowledge. Im liking the rendering and the latest painting. The three quarter face views need a little work to be on par with the rest of work. The mechs are looking great, where did you start with your robots/mechs? I wanted to have a go at learning that side of things was wondering if you had any advice .

Looking cool so far kresh. I like the particles. What I think you can do is to make his horn darker so they don't have the same hues and values as his skin. And also slant them or make them point outward more so they aren't tangent to his face.

KReeeeesssh... Nice stuff, man! You've definately been improving. The thread shows a bit of progress already. Especially in the faces. Just keep studying. Anatomy, life studies, etc. Try and really look at the stuff that inspires you and the techniques of those you like and ask yourself, why do I like this and how do they do it? Those are some things that really helped me. BTW, you going to Montreal? ThatFatKid and I are headin' up there from St. Louis but we should totally plan some IL/MO sketch/ConceptArt meet ups. Maybe we could figure something out. It'd be great to do something. Lemme kno.

My sketch group: Sorry guys that I havent been posting. I've been working really hard on that painting so I'm at least doing something. Sorry for negleting you all, 2 more days and i think ill be done with it. Then ill be back to my sketching self.

Crystalline: Thank you for the kind words. I should do more things from life and DEFINATELY work on my 3/4 angles. I just started doing robots recently, but Im around alot of machinery so i guess that helped.

Zebzfree: Cool man thanks, im glad u discovered my sketchbook. Sadly im not going to montreal, right now i dont have the funds. Im planning on going to the next one though. As for meetin up Im down, it's lonely here in chicago everyone likes to paint like pollock over here.

well here is a sketch i managed to do. its a little sneakpeak of my next project. Just scribbled around trying to feel what im going for, so i guess we can call it a thumbnail. From now on i should do sketches before i do a piece so i dont run into trouble later. I feel like im steering towards the classical route

I might as well post the bad sketches here too. Was experimenting with the side of my pencil. Pencil I was using was too soft for my taste but i was too lazy to get up.

The contrast is the same as orginal just threw a color up there to spice up the shitster

I think once you get used to the side of your pencil, you'll love it. You get fast and even values, great for blending w/o the strokes too.
