    another spaceship/terrain concept piece by me

    this one was about 2 hours or so....other than color issues really didnt change much from the intitial sketch .... sometimes i wonder if that is good or bad.

    nice sense of depth and ambiance but I really have to say that this does not look finished at all. It could use a lot of cleaning up, especially in you lines and value seperations. I also thik it might help a little to some reflections of that wall in the water to make it a little more noticible. Hope that helps.

    here is some more work done. I am honestly trying to avoid the 'line work ' look of the piece however.

    i like it but in following the direction you are heading in, i'd say that you want some softer lines.

    i.e. trust your sense of form and depth, relying less on those black lines and more on your tones and color variations.

    I also think that the edge of the water nearest to us still looks pasted into the scene. I think it's because there is too much difference in contrast between the near water and the foreground. I can definitely get a sense of what you're going for here though. Nice.
