    JOERI zijn schetsboek (2007)

    Hi,

since everybody(yhea iedereen!!) has one i feel obligated to participate.
please do comment & crit if you like. i'm here to learn!

first i'll post some older stuff.

    a school project:
some concept stuff for a mod for warcraft3(!). i did concept-art and modeling and texturing and even some animation(small group). we were mad making all this custom content. we couldn't make everything we'd hoped for. anyway the concepts:

    hehe.

this guy got depressed after the release of johny 5.0. this was actually my first digital painting.

after the workshop in prague i was all psyced about the oil-paintings. when i got back i started painting traditionally(also posted it in the life painting thread):

all acrylics on board. the texture kinda fucked it up.

[edit](don't pay atention at this litle thump, its only to show a thump at my thread)

Nice work man! Would like to see some figure studys. Your prespective looks off in your life paintings as well might want to beef up on that! I tryed painting on cardboard with ribs like that, gotta tell you it's not much fun at all...

this is really my last image for today:
recently i started a daily self portrait activity. but i'll post only the ones i like. heheh:

o and so soon people that comment. thanks!!!!

seth1: figure studies? yheah i'll post stuff later from my other sketchbook. but it's to late for that now (03:00). later i promise.
and you're right. perspective is off. i don't do any underdrawing or so, i just started painting. maybe i should do that to prevent it(if i'd looked better!) and on the last still life i added the litle yellow botle later. explains it a bit, nut not an excuse...

Alday.J:i think my designs are a bit 'empty' on those. but it's nice to hear that you like 'm.

blkn: o i love hands! the lines the expressions. i think it's the part of the body with the most curves. so beautifull. lately i try to do some more interesting stuff with it. i really enjoy drawing hands!

    thanks guys!
but i really should do my daily sp and go to bed.....

Whoohoo your hand rocks, and to quote mr. coro ath the portfolio evaulation in Prague:"you got your left hand down like a M*THAF*CKER!". PS I liked the name you wanted to give your sketchbook yesterday better

See you around dude, Au Revoir!

yo guys thanks for stopping by,

Serpian: you know what it is, doing them daily also makes me lazy. when it's 3 o'clock at night i don't feel like spending another half hour on drawing my sp. that's when i do them in pen.( 5 min... i should be ashamed). but spending more time on it pays off(like the one i posted i think). i'll keep working on them. i want to be able to put it down imediately right (don't we all). until then, draw, draw draw....

well today i had some fun in painter. didn't had the intention to do anything like this. i had fun though!

    a new sketchbook:

    before going out again(today):

i try to do more with the hands, since for me it's a subject i am comfortable with to draw. try out certain compositions
, adding a surtain mood to it. so far i only drew 3 of these: the 'drag-thing', desire and this one(today):

wasn't really in shape. but still fun.

    peace,

    -j.

it's bin ages since i updated. finished another sketchbook, but haven't found the oppertunity jet to scan some stuff in. here some digital stuff i did the last couple of months for school etc.

floris me and a friend for school worked on a prototype for a game. some concept stuff:

and off course some modeling was needed. i was the modeling-bitch again...
the maps(def, spec, normal) were all pretty dirty done since it was only a prototype we were making. concept is from floris.

and a random i-don't-feel-like-modeling-sf-spaceship distraction thingy:

although we were not able to create a playable prototype meeting our standards we did made content to work with. we will continue to work on it when we have time...

ert un sp.proportions litle bit fucked and the values as well:

    c'est tout pour maintenant.
