The secret to drawing
I'm just wondering how many of you artists out there know the secret to drawing? I recently found out the divine secret, which ultimately is the secret to drawing and music aswell and I gotta say it changed my life. Of course I still have to practice but knowing the secret makes my drawings come out twice as good as they did before, because now I just get it
For those who dont know I cant tell you, but I can say what ever I like. Its one of those things that must be known and not told, like a secret thats not really a secret.- Similar Threads

Take whatever epiphany you've had and run with it. Take the inspiration and go with it. Call it a secret if you want.

December 11th, 2005 #7I've also got a secret something when I start drawing. It is long, most of the time yellow, but it can be any color to be honest, there are h's and b's on it and whenever it hits the paper there comes out some strange grey stuff, it's awesome :|

December 11th, 2005 #13the secret to drawing is that there is no F%$#%^ing secret. once you understand form shape, line wieght, contour, value, and how to push and pull, you play with these tools creating what ever pleases you. Im not sure what relevance you were connecting with davinci, but if you were talking about the davinci code then im just confused becasue that had religous/christine connotations and nothing to do with being a draftsman.

May I ask if you know just the one secret or the other one too? Well if it's just the first one then I am sorry that I can't tell you about the other one but you describet it best: "It's one of the things that must be experienced/known and not told". But if it's the other one then you know what I mean, don't you? You know how each secret works and relates to the other one. It's really great how they amplify each other, isn't it?
