Jahakob is drawing and is hopefully getting better!

Hello!
I am new here so this thread will act as an introduction to me and to my art.
17 years old, concept art and concept artists are both things which I enjoy immensely.
Love games and got friends that I torture into helping my to create games. It is what I like.
I hope that after a while you and I will see that I have improved. That is my goal with this thread.

First off, some heads.

I'll post some pencil work and anatomy studies as soon as I can. PLEASE criticize my work! Thanks * 1000 if you do!

welcome to ca! good job on varied and exaggerated features! my only crit so far is to design where and how you use thick and thin lines. they can be a great way to focus the eye on a composition.

keep posting!

Thank you Apollonuevo! I'll look into the lines thing when I do lineart the next time, thanks for the crit.

This will not be an "OMG awesome art"-thread, it will be more of a "watch the flower blossom"-thread. My schedule for each day is the following:

Self-portrait
Anatomy, reference
Anatomy, no reference
Colour/Light, reference
Colour/Light, no reference
Still life

Right now I'm just using the computer and the pencil, could watercolour and oil teach me more (besides another technique ) so please inform me, I'll listen.

Here it is, please crit.

Doodling.

I really thought I would be better with self-portrait. What do you know. Keep ajourned, please.

There is another palette when it is another skin. Good excersise I suppose. This is the first digital portrait I do.

The second one, no reference. Testing the light...

Hm, they got flipped. That will be fixed the next time. And I will clean the scanner...

These are all quickies, I had to be fast about it as it is getting rather late. Tomorrow they will be better, please crit! Thanks for watching.

not bad. I think your inks are on a good start, though you need to keep up the anatomy work, and the graphite practice. Continue wehat your doing with the random subject matter, and see how various light sources could effect your profiles. Welcome to Concept Art, mate.

ThanThank you, yea I know, I am getting a big anatomy book, it will be interesting. I feel that I get easier on the pen and it's easier to place strokes, so I hope my graphite skills will improve, as it is now it is all very muddy.
I'm keeping it up, thank you very much for the crit Azeira and thank you for welcoming me.

No self-portrait today, things got in the way.
Here is a WIP for the canyonmaker-game. I know it's not perfect but I think I'm getting better with the shape/light thing:

Slowdown on the referenced anatomy studies, give them the same amount of care that you gave this last one. Start studying perspective too, get several books on the subject.
