Started this last night, it my third time ditigal painting. I sketched it out in adobe then began rendering. I feel like there is something weird going on with her left eye, right by the pupil. I don't know if its to big or in the wrong place. Its driving me nuts. Anyway if you can help me out and I'm stuck once again on the nose can't seem to get it working right I get to one point then can't seem to get anything else out of it. Oh the arrow is not pointing at the eye that I think is against me, its my light source.
the eyes look ok to me, although the tones of the face overall could use more work
try moving the white spot on her left eyes pupil over more to the middle to make it look more straight, and for her nose i think it needs to curve more to fit the other eye and eyebrow connection
firstly, and most importantly...
never work on a white surface, especially when developing sking tones.
everthing will look gray and dull, because it cant compete with the intensity of a white.
look how much more powerful the eyes can be when you use white wisely.
also, use a wider range of warm and cool colors.
adding some reds will really bring it to life.
remember, for the most part, white acts as a cool color.
it only looks warm when placed in the center of an intensly warm color like yellow.
you have some drawing errors in the eyes.
i suggest you get reference.
here are some color modifications to get you started.
i started by laying a transparent black gel across the image,
and then erasing out the highlights.
this is a quick way to establish cool shadows.
then, i go back and modify everything a bit.
i went into variations, and made the image a little warmer,
then re-established the intense highlights.

in Painter, a transparent layer is called a gel.

Good stuff Dan, awesome to learn from someone elses post...
I think a big thing on the eyes is the pupil should be centered in the iris, but yeah definetly use a reference. You'll learn more that way.
A gel layer in Painter is closer to a multiply layer in PS I think.
