Just being a parrot but I really like the action in the pose of the grabbed astronaut too. I think you've nailed the situation down to the hand gestures. Good feel of space there too, I too like the balance of light and heavy lines this time.

Looks like quality comic shadings on the newest sketch. The round armour on the back of the other hand seems to make the anatomy look a bit odd though and I think the ellipses on the both wrists should be rounder to fit the forms. Just little things that'd be easy to fix in the inking phase though.

Well, I bet it's a relatively huge amount of skills and own style you've gotten yourself on the before-uni era. I'm looking forward to the burst of new work going to art school will cause.

Great tweaking of structure on those deformed heads, and I really like the gesture in that "strange pose" drawing.

Nice updates! I wouldn't worry about the mistakes on that aztec/aborigine/pacific islander warrior dude - the coolness of the design balances it out nicely, and the naggy little mistakes are easy to overlook - except for that rubber wrist, heh
Cool cultural stuff on that dude.

    And the cat boy rocks.

    oh, here's my sketchbook.

Also, my website. It would get beat up in a fight.

Nice update dude, I liked your hyena bro! The warrior details are cool too, and the deformed heads looked like good fun. I liked the Hyena mostly due to the GNOLLISHNESS of it HARHARHARHARHAR. more!

@Dan Valkar: thanks man.Weird i didn't think of the face features but you're right, they sure don't look right for the rest of the accessories.

@Chromosome: thank you very much, always cool to see you here

@Teh Gosu: thanks man.Aye, i need more ref drawing.I gotta find a way to make it ess boring and frustrating for me tho.Its been ages sice i've last used a ballpen, maybe i should try again

@Discoskull: hehe thanks man, but i'm afraid no amount of detail or design ideas will help a bad construction.looking forward to hearing from ya about that prog

    @Dreamworker: thanks man!

@Call0ps: i'm afraid they ain't just "small" proportion issues...don't worry an, i will.

    @AlexC: thank you

@Sirio_Brozzi: har har har, gotta keep the gnolliness levels high in 'ere, so i might as well smack a hyena or two in here, once in a while.thanks dood

nice work here man. I have seen you in almost every SB I have had a look at here som I got curious to see you in action. The stuff you got here (I have not had time to check all of it) looks cool, I really do find your designs very interesting and tight. You have of course had a great deal of development through this thread and I always respect that ^^.
I think that this last post is great because I can see some antomy studies, and I find it interesting to see other artists approaches to the subject.

I hope that do keep it up and manages to keep the humor in your art.

    Cheers

Great to see you're back with full steam and focusing on the boring work (studies) too. About the anatomy, one thing I noticed in the new stuff is that your calf muscles seem to start at the height of kneecaps or above it when they should start below it.

Somehow the tentacle alien head really shines to me. Something about the shadings, composition and calm expression makes a good harmony though it looks like a quick sketch. Or it's just the great design.

The inked venom looks good to me otherwise but something's odd about the values. You seem to have there a black, a light grey and white. It's preferred to have soft edges on the shadows so I think if you had a dark grey to soften the black area's edges, it could look much more natural. Don't know if you know about this already but http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...ighlight=edges.

    Proceed.

yeah bebe , these anatomy and gesture practices is what i really want to see here, u ´ve already proved that your can desing your creatures and charas. now make em move . a suggestion of me would ,.. you should start doing comics , because first you have to place figures in perspective , 2nd you will learn compositing and so on. however still waiting fo rthe script , till next time on msn bro .

@DanielC: thanks Daniel, and yes, that sounds clever.I'll try n do more studies ASAP...this is "fun" update thanks for the great music too man, excellent inspiration

@Buckster: thank you very much hehe, you see me in every thread, huh? damn right, my post count is way too high.Maybe i'm just a CA addict

@geartrooper: thanks man.hehe not much i can suggest really, i'm def not a shading/rendering/line expert...you'd better ask someone really good at it, like monsier DanielC

@MeTaL-Mike: thanks.Hands are complicated, but very expressive and, most of all, fun to draw.I'll do more of those.

@Carnifex: actually, that was a pretty productive week. This productivity goes up n down all the time, wich sucks

@bumskee: aye, kats are cool, and my kat's the coolest of all Hell yeah, they pay off, but i gotta be in the right "Mood" for 'em.More studies soon

@Dreamworker: hehe not hard enought, and you know it hehe grazie Paolo!

@Dan Valkar: thanks! weird to see somebody liked the posemaniac thing.More post apoc work in this update

@OldNoobie: thanks Lee i'll do some studies on what you mentioned in the enxt update, promise

@smuli: spot on comment as usual, man.Your posts really go straight to the point, thank you very very much

@GOBLINSHARK: oi AleXXX, right n brutal as usual. Will do more gestures very soon, tryin' to keep the updates varied. And i'll do a olot of comics for school pretty soon, i hope catch ya on msn whenevr you're online, pervert!

@Sirio_Brozzi: hey hey Sirio.YEah, concept art definately needs more farting monstaz, i'll try n improve that. And about the spaghetti strainer..hell, i hoped someone noticed that

ok people.Weekends are a bitch for drawing, so this ain't a big update. But i've beentrying new stuff.Dunno if it works or no, but this was fun (apart from the psionic mutant colr version, i hate that sunnovabitch).

1-"inked" this guy, the pencil version was really messy. Its still messy, but i kinda like it anyway

3-The Psionic Mutant.Basically its a poor radiation victim that wears a helmet capable of amplifying psionic power and is in a really bad mood. And wears an ugly scarf. My fav is the pencil version, but i just felt like playing with it a lil more.Used what i learned from Keith Thompson's DVD, but looks like i didn't lean much about values or color.Till next time...

oh yeah !!1 now thats an tight mofo update!.. VERY good designs.
the inks looks much better this time only you could fill some pure black areas in it and it would be perfect. though this character is looking like hes falling down , but this time only a bit. soldier dude looks good , colours looking rushed but hey , at least you ve done some again . till next time
