I admire your ability to do your characters so swooshy

ok.This is important. You guys may have noticed i never draw women. That's cause i suck at drawing women.SO, here's a hyper quick 5cmx8cm drawing, there wasn't enought space to actually show the details in the face. But, plase crit this real hard, i wanna now if suff like proporton anatomy n stuff look at least right.I hope i'll draw more chicks soon,i really need it.
June 9th, 2006 #274
cool updates! Considering that you dont draw women often or at all, thats pretty good. Cant put my finger on wats wrong with it, so there probably isn't anything. But im a nooby to anatomy, so dont take my word for it. Anyway, keep the updates coming! The undead soldier concept is really cool, maybe define the chin area more. But it be the scan or my monitor i dunno, otherwise awesome as ever.

he. not bad that woman if u don´t draw that much . but u say 5 cm 8 cm..???
i see you use a thick pencil , i think its to thick for such a small sketch, maybe u could try to make this little ones with a machine , 0,5 one? try it!
so i see like in my last post if you always less out human feets and never finish legs till the end , you´ll never learn it. also in this little solution i wouldn´t concentate on the face. concentrate more on the whole form, but i always like that u always try to draw your charas in such dynamic poses. keep it up with those woman.

I like the zombies! The lighting on the first one somehow doesn't look too consistent though. About the woman, I think the shoulders are a bit broader than my stereotypic woman's (but sure they can be that way I guess )... Her waist should be much wider (two heads along Loomis), at least with thighs that broad and the thinnest part of the stomach should be upper I think. But it's a bit hard to think about the proportions with foreshortening in the torso... Maybe you could start with more basic poses?

@KuNiva: thanks for the comments damn you're right about the chin area, it isn't clear enought.Aw well, i gotta move on to the next one anyway
@GOBLINSHARK: thanks! yeah, you're right, i'm too lazy too even bother sharpening my pencil lol
@shyamshriram : thanks, i'm glad you like 'em.
@smuli: lol, i guess i'm too used to drawing uber-muscular barbarians ...i should draw more chicks...yeah, maybe i started with a difficult pose...
ok, quicky today, but i kinda like the mood in it

June 12th, 2006 #281
awesome lookin sketches for you chronicles of dust work man... on the woman looks pretty decent, perhaps if you would have taken a bit more time on it we would be able to critique it a little better... as far as anatomy it seems pretty good, the hips seem a bit awkward, a little wide and a bit high... like a bit too far above the skirt line... keep it up man!

Wow, TheGnoll, I've never been in here, but I like your stuff a lot! Lots of movement and coolness.
As far as drawing chicks, I think your sketch up there is doing pretty well so far.
Always elongate the necks compared to guys. Us chicks have daintier (thinner) necks and smaller shoulders than most guys. Also, shorter torsos, longer legs, and generally we show more collar bone than guys while guys show more adam's apple. Our hairlines are generally higher than guys', but not so much that we look bald. Our brow bones are smaller and so are our jaw bones. (Again, this is generally.)
Just a few things to keep in mind. Oh yeah, and guys arms are longer than girls proportionally.
All the reasons that guys can look awfully goofy in drag, and also good hints to tell who is a guy at a bar and who's really a girl

da quello che vedo, stai migliorando molto, complimenti
vorrei trovare un po' di tempo anch'io per schizzare un po', sigh...

I'm not an expert at drawing chicks, but a few people say I am decent at it.
Unless you have a real life reference female right in front of you get some reference photos. Avoid anything fashion oriented for the face reference. Makeup and supermodel features makes it hard to learn much. I find that a very average looking women can be made to look more beautiful, and in the process stylizing the drawing you learn a lot about what aspects actually make her beautiful. Plus average looking women usually have more curves, curves can be sexy.
In respects to your drawing I'd say
1. Figure out a solution for hair. Some stylization or something. Good looking hair helps a lot on femal drawings, since most women spend the time to make their hair look good.
2. Her neck looks short. Women can have a variety of different length necks, and their shoulder developement changes that look a lot. Neck length also is in direct proportions to their overall body type.
3. You want to work on the pose some. There needs to be some reflection of the weight of her body on the legs. Her knees would probably be locked. Check out some reference of a women in high heals standing like that. It would really shift her torso and hips to balance herself. You'll probably have to look at stripers to see that sort of pose... oh darn!
Keep at it. Your guys look great!
June 14th, 2006 #292
to make this girl more 'lady like' you may want to narrow the shoulders a bit, the left sholder looks too far away from her body and her arms might be a little long. Remember that a womans hips is usually wider than thier shoulders and in this one if she stood up I think the shoulders would still be too wide.
haha the porn star shoes... man those are just classy
June 14th, 2006 #293
@Artguy: thanks a lot for the suggestions, i'll keep 'em in mind.Looking at stripper pictures can't harm me LOL
@octopus interphone: damn these female are really hard for me...lol "pornstars shoes" you're right...these damn cliches in my stuff is killing me
ok, i did something like 3 warm up pages, they all ended up in the bin.So i got back to my comfort zone (damn!) and thought i post this one, hurricane inspired

Great stuff man! Im liking the undead concepts alot, the last one you did is really good. The photoshop/painter portrait is good, you've got some nice tones going on within it. Keep the digi-painting going, you're improved quite fast from your previous stuff. The expression on the last pic is insane! Cool poses as ever man.

@blanquish: you bet it damn is.Someone is definately nanging my head with a hammer right now and..well, it's half past five here
@KuNiva: great to see you pop in once in a while. The portait was PS, i was actually practicing tones so i'm quite happy.Glad you like the stuff
ok, i'll be home alone for 10 days from tomorrow, i've got all the time in the world to drink, smoke and actually destroy my life in these days.I'll probably draw too
Still gotta finish some CoD stuff (damn i'm late), but i did this page of sketches, looking at Lungbug's old SB is always soooo inspiring.
Ok, here you are, i'll post more ASAP
(btw, i actually realized that using an eraser could actually help cleaning up my stuff, i almost never use them because they get dirty real soon...guess i'll give it a try soon )
