BRIEF: Every City has those neighborhoods into which you really don't want to go. I want to see these. I am intentionally not specifying a time period or a location. It could be the back streets of cheapside in victorian london, the Subura in Imperial Rome. The uncomfortable part of of any modern city... the abandoned neglected part of a future city....
"On an evening like this every tree has a moon in it all of its own for itself - if you climb up a thousand trees this evening you can pick a thousand moons" the old man murmured, "you remind me tonight of a secret swimming deep with in me."
BRIEF: There are two cities, that are visually very different. Whether this difference is by location, ie: mountain/plains or culturally, ie: Baroque/Aztec. There is a bridge between these two cities. It can be a natural bridge, a man made bridge, a military zone or what ever connects these two cities.
2 Cities. A Bridge. Some natural feature which divides the 2 cities.

The ships should be researched and any one who makes the flag on the mast fly the wrong way will be summarily eliminated from polling.
Fantasy elements are acceptable as long as the time period is clear. Your entry can be combined with your CHOW entry, in that if you can include the character as part of the scene that will be fine. All Chow and Eow rules still apply.
You have three options with this contest:
a) Do a more illustrative piece and combine CHOW & EOW and meet the requirements for both contests in one image (a battle on a quarter deck, for example)
b) Do two illustrations seperately, one with a naval battle, and one just with the hero, CHOW link here.
c) Only do one of the two - you don't really need to do both, but it'll be more fun!
For anyone unfamiliar with Mozart's opera, this show is a fantasy and has many opportunities for Imaginative stage treatments. The link above has a fairly complete plot synopsis.
I am your Director for this one. And i will try to give feed back as a true director would.
* Choose a scene to design the set for.
* Your stage is as large or as small as you like, and you have an unlimited budget.
* The show is a fantasy and as the director I am in the earliest stages of deciding on the style and look of the show. I am asking you as the set designer to toss your ideas out and see what flies.
* Welcome to my world, this is truly concept art.
