    Hello, bluefooted.

So charming piece, really changes something in my brains as I speak. So much beauty, so generously and so finely presented, I'm smitten.

Well, your work is always impressed me with how fine and branched your nerves are. You feel the smallest changes in color gradation, you show me a beauty in every object you chose for your art, be this wrinkled light fabric, or old dusty pants of the air pirate. It's so great to see how advanced aesthetic can be in person.

Background is gorgeous, such a lovely stylisation of ocean water. It's glowing, you know. Of course you know. The shades are so charmingly delicate, you sure love your goddess.

As I wrote the light head covering cloth is taking my breath away, so gentle and beautiful.

I know you want to put more wrinkles on it and some outlines, and it's probably for better, but I don't' want and actually afraid of new changes, it's so expressive right now. Sometimes we don't need to say everything, some half said words and hints could be even better.

The shape of the shell, the foliage garland, the ocean foam are loveliest.
This dragon skin, or the whole body of it, as I see it, throws me into such a strange association. First of all about the snake who seduced weak minded Eve with an apple from the Tree of Knowledge of Good or Evil, and then my mind goes to an Apple of Discord who was given to Aphrodite and so on and on.

These thin strokes of golden colors are striking, effect the tips of my nerves, very beautiful.

Well, I hope you will continue with working on this piece. Right now, for me the face is the weakest part. I actually see it like a face of Marleen Dietrich, a German actress of the last century, it was her trademark, high, accurately pinched eyebrows and the eyes, like the ones of your goddess. And maybe it is good idea, she was a real Venus on Earth, so admired and loved.

Would be great to make her body more prominent with volume and highlight, as you're probably planning to do.
Well, thank you so much, you are great!!

    Sveta

rWDrk: Thanks! You should vote, though. You entered, so I think you have as much (if not more) of a right to decide who gets to win.

Let's see. Here's some more odds n ends - some of it is old and some is newer but didn't get posted here before. I'll start off with some more X-Men crap:

A couple versions of an ad I did for a production of The Magic Flute:

A couple illustrations for Alice in Wonderland (the contest over at EatPoo). I won second place for the gryphon pic

    Thanks for looking!

    BRAVO ! BRAVO ! EXCELLENT !
Hey, I remember the Alice pic in some thread. At that time, you were a bit trouble (is that word too strong ? Sorry for my bad english !) with the texture if my memory is correct. Glad to see that picture in your wonderfull sketchbook !!! The second one is perfect and I really like your ink stuff.
You're magic, I love your art. Five stars for ya.
    Cheers.

Like a breath of fresh air your works are. I am envious of your coloring techniques I'm gonna study these a bit more, maybe I can pick up some of your awesome style.

Couple new things. Haven't gotten the chance to do much work lately, damn graduate school

Here's a COW - it just lost to Jakkas' creature

And here's a commission piece that I'm currently procrastinating on. How come whenever you have to do something, you suddenly don't want to do it?

And a piece trying to show 'flight':

    Cheers!

man what a sketchbook! I really dig the colors you use in all of these. That last one is intresting. I like how she's sitting on the dragon, it completly flows with the whole composition.

I love that one too that Groover picked out, but they all rock. You are getting an impressive collection of critters.

*eh, thought I replied yesterday, but I guess it didn't work*

Anyway, thanks so much for all the comments - they really mean a lot to me I'm not the most active artist, especially as far as sketching goes - wish I was, but I just don't get the time to draw as much as I want to. But these comments go a long way towards encouraging me. So... thanks.

But fear not! Or be very afraid? I've almost gotten my groove back, so I'll be posting a few more things soon.

    Cheers!

    Great work, as always.

I love the man's face in that commissioned piece - there's a lot of character there!

Wow! I'm glad I clicked your sketchbook link! I love what you have here, each piece is so wonderful to look at. Their is a delicateness to your line work that somehow accentuates your figures. It took me a bit to realize who your style reminds me of, but it finally came to me...Arthur Rackham
    (who I really enjoy.)

I also want to compliment you on your Tutorial, it was really helpful!

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

ehh I'm not sure how to put this... holy crap I love you. Have you tried putting your stuff in galleries? And if so how much do you get out of it. Well assuming they are prints you probably dont get nearly as much as a real painting. But yea love everything you do bro!

Holy crap! I should check my own sketchbook more often!

Thanks so much for all the replies - so many of them come from people who's work I really admire

Anyway, I don't have anything new (well, I do, sort of. But my scanner is broken, so I can't post it). So I'm going to dig down to the bottom of the barrel for the sake of posting art

    A cartoon for my namesake:

A background I made for something that I never ended up using:

A couple of oils (sorry for the crappy photos):

I got an F on this next one because I didn't finish it

    A couple of watercolors:

I think that's enough for now. Hopefully I'll get some new art up here eventually. Cheers!
