    Hell yeah!
You don't see many fat/muscular warriors these days. People usually do super-lean muscle for these period pieces even though steroids weren't available.
I love the feel in the last one and the sense of believability when it comes to body types and facial expressions.
    You're a great inspiration dude...keep'em coming.

Oh my, very nice stuff. The gritty, shadowed look to the work gives such a deep feeling of life and energy.

    wow Cos, nice work!
my faves are the third and last ones.
only have one crit- the first one has too much contrast and is too crisp in the bg. it distracts from your focal point.

    other than that, amazing job.
i've seen your work on other sites, namely epilogue, which i don't really go to anymore, since it's so difficult to find stuff there, so glad to see you here.

The first piece someone here actually posted in the "inspiration" thread located in the lounge... but, the last piece left absolutely amazed.... so much mood, and grittiness. those executioner dudes look scarey as hell... They look like satans offspring.... crazy.. im with Coro, Marko, Milligan and the others when they say I hope you stick around... thanks for sharing

So glad you are back dude, my cos folder has laid dormant for too damn long. I'm curious as to how you approach coloring your pieces... do you paint in grayscale, then overlay color? Or are you painting color into these as you go?

    daunting

Very few times do I hate an artist purely because their work depresses me.
This is one of those times.

    No really, actually very inspiring

Love your choice of shadow with the subtle inclusions of hinted detail.

    Regards,
    Gangus

Brilliant work. I love them all, but the b&w one on the bottom really stands out. The forms read so well. On the second image, I love the face of the guy just to the left of center with the red hair (or maybe it is just red fur behind his head). You are bold with your use of light sources, wielding them deftly to move the viewer. I was just looking at some Rubens the other day thinking a similar thought. Great work.

These are amazing, the only thing I'd say confuses my eye is in the first pic where the fog starts so abrubtly and being really thick kind of amputates the characters, it took me a while to figure out they were just torsos with the rest of the body kind of hidden, I kept thinking the guy in the background sliced the other one in half or something

But WOW veryyy nice, especially the second one (my personal favuorite)

Hey everyone, honestly I was not expecting such a great response, really means alot!

endregan - More of the same really, painting and drawing.. I'm glad you liked them!

bk studio - Thanks, I'm a big fan of your work, really loved that stuff in your post!

Rambhat - Thanks, good to be back, been a long time!

    mcotie - Thanks alot Mitch!

    Blahm / Snowsfall / - Thankyou!

Orcatraz - Thanks, that's nice of you to say so! I will hunt through my hard drive for any decent works in progress stuff I have.

    LightKirtar - :p cheers dude.

    jrr / meDrawUC / FuT / JustinBeckett - Thanks!

MikeCorriero - Thanks man, I think it's probably the high intesity of my highlight areas which gives it that certain that look, tho I'm glad you like it!

Datameister - Thankyou! These were all painted in photoshop.

    IgG / deltron05 / Stalsby / Diego - Hey means alot, thankyou!

Sinix - I very rarely will start a colour piece in greyscale, I tend to keep my base colour quite muted and build on that, sometimes starting with a rough sketch. Hope that helps!

    luxun / Theo / killing.people / Midnight - Thanks guys!

p4b10 - Thanks man, I'm always striving to improve, sometimes gets hard to go past that sticking point but I am always trying. Glad you liked them!

    Matt Smith - Thanks!

Bomba - Thanks man, glad to be back. Very encouraging words, I appreciate them immensely. To be honest there isn't many artists I would put up there with the likes of justin sweet, he really is execptional. Other than Paul Dainton and Phil Hale who are both huge talents I can't seem to think of anyone I like as much (just my personal tastes). Myself I would certainly not include anywhere near them, but again very encouraging.. I will push as hard as I can to continue creating. Thanks Bomba.

Dan v d - Always appreciate your enthusiasm on my stuff Dan!

el coro - I Appreciate that thanks alot, always enjoy your work!

    nola - Thanks!

Marko - Thanks, glad you liked this stuff! I have very much enjoyed your work, your stuff on Degenesis, very badass!

    Clique - Thankyou!

Dan - lol.. I think it may have been more like a year and a half this time? I will make more effort to stick around, thanks for saying so and commenting on these, always love your work Dan.

crazybrush - Thanks, yea I definetely agree about the body types. I've always felt that kind of butch big boned type build was more of a realistic idea of a powerful olden day style warrior, rather than the ripped body builder sterotype. Tho of course I am guilty of doing the latter. I did enjoy painting these guys this way tho, it was in the character descrips for them but I will try and incorporate it more into my stuff.

    Shadoman - Thanks!

Hive - That's very kind thankyou! Yes this was for OgreKingdoms, tho it's actually been revised from the one they printed.

    Chuck,mate / Bowlin / Pringle / Tigermilk / Lone Wolf - Thanks very much!

Smooth Operator - Nice to hear from you and Thankyou (efharisto! I used Photoshop for painting these, I've messed around with painter a little tho haven't taken the time to really learn it properly.

mwillustration - Thanks! I do agree I pushed pretty far on the contrasty highlights in that first one, it was the knights helmet which bothered me the most. Stood out somewhat artificially and I think it could have used more midtones in there. Realistically the bg could have definetely toned down in contrast aswell tho, I agree!

vigostar - Hey thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it. I didn't know that top image was already posted here, I will check that thread out!

strych9ine - Thanks man! I really very rarely paint colour into a grey scale piece. These were mostly done starting with a muted base colour and building on that, sometimes starting with a rough sketch. I will try and put some kind of progress steps together sometime tho.

Boom - Thanks Boom, it's good to see you around again too, been a long time I hope you have been doing well and will do my best to stay around more in future!

Aleski - Thanks Aleski! Very nice of you to say, I always enjoy checking out your stuff!

Joshua - Thanks Josh! Yeah they are Ogre Kingdoms characters.

Gangus - Thanks, glad to give some inspiration

    Atmo-X / flux - Thankyou!

Lyon - Thanks Lyon, that's very kind of you. It's strange, using the bold light areas to to guide your eye is actually something I was thinking about just the other day aswell. It's something I do just to get the right kind of mood or feel across (or what feels right to me anyway) but I've never really taken time to analyse it. I'm glad you brought that up, I will take some time later tonight to look at Rubens work. Thanks again.

    rasdasa / flaptraps / ExilE / Krystallwolvelt - Thanks!

enigma - haha thanks, that would of made an interesting image
