    X-mas pin-up ***Finally finished***

Here's the x-mas card I'm making for my company...our logo is a Kitsune (or foxwoman) I'm not sure at all about the lighting and the background still needs a lot of work. The top part is mostly empty because it's where I'm putting the greetings...

The back of her neck looks kind of "chunky," and the light skintone spot on the cheek looks out of place, but overall, I like this!

I htink it needs to have a fireplace off to the side so y ou can work in warmer colors, It doesnt seem like a very sensual mood at the moment. GOod luck!

PixelDragoon, perhaps you did not notice all the straw around her...

NOT an environment behooving to a fireplace...

There's a difference between noticing visual discrepancies, and redesigning a work...Look for flaws, not how YOU might draw it...

Well, I was trying to make it look like she was sitting on a shaggy rug and she was lit by a fireplace in the distance but it looks like I failed. Here is what I think will be the final version.
    X-mas pin-up ***Finally finished***

Does it look more 'rug'-ish? Does the lighting on her cheek look better? How's the bg?

Heyyy looking good! Only thing that bugs me is the head looks detached from the body no? Could be the position of the head, maybe the shoulders? Or just the strong outline? Maybe try a flesh colored outline?

    Hmm, needs champagne maybe... hehe.

    hi cute card!

    a few suggestions...

I think you need to take a look at the neck. It needs a slight shadow under the chin or somthing not quite sure what but i am pretty sure somemore of the neck should be showing infront and maybe less in the back. Try to find a ref in a simmalr pose or get a lady to sit in that position for you so you can see better.

Also I think she needs more cleavage define with your line work or another value of light. She is a pin up model after all and when you wear bustiers or corsets brests get push up kinda higher.

just my two cents take what you can or leave it! Looking great .. i think champane would be a nice addition also like some one else said!

Thank you all for your comments.
Here is my ref. I'm trying to figure out how I could fix the neck and will try posting a revised version with a different neck and a wee bit more cleavage.

I like how the character looks. What's bugging me about the image though is that the b/g style and the character style don't match up. They look too different and I find it distracting.

Hi ! Even if you got a good ref, I suggest you to remove her left shoulder a bit lower. Sometimes it's good thing to forget your ref for focus on your own stuff... be tricky (according to all the pin-up I made, I mean !). Hope my english is well and my crit will be help ya !
    Cheers !

    Good job so far
As already said: The shoulder / neck region doesn't look right. I looked at your ref and I'm pretty sure that you could fix the issue by just removing a tiny bit of line at the shoulder and lowering the neck a tiny bit.

I tried it and it seems, that it works out (hope you don't mind i post that here, if you want me to remove it i'll do so of course).

    X-mas pin-up ***Finally finished*** Hope that'll help.
I'm not good at anatomy, so I'm not sure if this is correct, but it looks okay to me.

Awesome ref, by the war. Roowr. ; )

I also wanted to add that it would look more like a fluffy rug if the whole bottom portion of the pic wasn't the rug...if it was just a square under her fanny surrounded by hardwood floor, it would look better I think. The first thought I had was that she was in a stone-walled barn sitting in hay. lol = )

Sorry I'm late, but I think the tail and ears could have been a little fluffier, more like the rug.
