long time listener..first time caller. MORE Past work (UPDATE 10-5-05)
Been lurking around this great site for a while...thought Id post some of my past work...
the character stuff was in painter using the tapered brush and fine detail under airbrush
The sepia stuff (PS) are BGs for an X-box title done at Brainzoo studios. Effects and a camera would later be added to zoom in/pan through a scene with characters, and a voice-over narrating the story - very storybook feel to it.
flying insects..yes I know I shouldn't have copied and paste them...
key frame for a WWII movie
various color keys...

Whoa. Awesome concepts. The two paintings with the swamp and those Asian structures catch my eye because they would look awesome for a crossfighting game like Street Fighter or King Of Fighters. The drawings at the top are very cool too. The only brushes that I have are the ones photoshop gives me. Could I download special brushes specifically for drawing and painting? Anyhow, these are all great. Very inspiring.

Those color keys are beautiful. Were they for a particular project?

Ammoburger - you're right on the money - it was for a multi-player X-box live fighting game called Iron Pheonix. As far as brushes for drawing - I use painter...mostly the airbrush and conte tools. For PS - I recommend the brushes that come with the Intuos 3 tablet.
Posh - Thanks for the comments -
I had a big smile on my face when I read your comment...I knew it was just a matter of time till someone asked me. Yes, at first I wanted to put the mummy as my avatar but thought a gorilla with a scottish hat is much funnier...I had already registered under Rascar so it was too late to change my name...although I love the mummy's name - its been stuck in my head since I read it as a kid - probably the creepiest thing in the tintin series.
Gorilla - Thanks, no they were just random color keys that I enjoy doing - guess which one was inspired by prince of egypt...

Yeah, Rascar Capac gave me nightmares when I was little! :o
Nice stuff here. In particular I like the top left and right female head sketches, they catch my eye for some reason.
The colour key pieces are cool, they have a light, airy and open feel to all of them, which I enjoy.
By contrast, those Japanese-style dark paintings feel much more secluded, but it really works well there, and I like the painting style too.
For some reason my favourite piece here is the one of the curving steps with the Incan (?) head sculptures on either side - probably just because I'm a sucker for that method of drawing.
S'all good stuff, keep it up!
