GMAGS' SB. A computer technician who draws a little. :)

Hey guys my name is Gaston and this is my first post at Concept Art. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I started to draw at a very young age, then I gave up for awhile during my H.S. and college yrs. I would draw only when I had to do a presentation for my science projects and occasional requests by friend to draw a cartoon character. I got into computers during my high school and college yrs. I only recently got serious about my art 3 yrs ago. I am now 32. This is a drawing I did of thor from an art book. Please be gentle guys. More to come soon.

    Its a start .
    Background & the rest ?

I thought there is a size restriction on DA .
It took a little while to load .

You might leave a bad aftertaste in people's mind if you link them to your DA site .

DA is very uncritical in my experience whereas CA.org is activly being critical in order to be able to improve.

Best use photobucket.com for your pics & try to keep them in my experience below 1000 pixels in width & possibly height in order for the image to fit into your post & onto the screen as a whole in order to make it easy to C+C it.

People are i think less likely to comment on an external piece than if they can already see the piece within the post .

" Please be gentle. " - there is no gentle on CA.org - we try to be honest .

    A little perspective drawings.

Some pen sketches on stuff in my living room.

And finally, an sp and eye sketches in pen.

I'm seeing the improvements and in such a short period of time, that's a very nice thing to see! The portraits from Sin City are so much superior the the previous ones.

You can easily draw the eyes, nose and so forth, but most of the time they are not correctly placed. The eyes are too far away from eachother or they are not aligned correctly, things like that. Perhaps you got too carried away in detail and so forgot the big picture.

Don't forget the big picture: roughly draw the outlines of the head and mark where the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. are supposed to be. Step back and look at it; notice if they are out of place or out of perspective. When you are certain all is in its place, proceed with defining the features. Just, take a step back one in a while.

Furthermore: I can see that you're heading the right way! Like the portraits the handstudies are getting better and that skull is very well done. Keep it up!
    Cheers!

gmags, nice sketches you've got going on. The studies of the skulls/bones are your strongest work; the legs are nicely done too. I'm really enjoying the lines that show the contours in the bones. Keep pushing those studies and incorporating them into your sketches. Cheers!

Or Maybe you´ve already seen that one. Anyway, keep going, looking good so far.
