    Practice and experiment.
    Try every brush in various sizes, opacities, and then click the Brush Tip Shape button in the brushes palette, and customize the effect.
    Start out with just black and white.
    Use layers for each and every color and adjust opacity and blending modes
    Utilize the posterization and threshold features.

    Do this for 15-20 minutes every day, and save your work in a file titled "Progress."
    Make one picture daily of your hand, even going so far as to trace it, and then fill in the details.

    Go. Do. SAVE.
    Repeat.
