These are cool...very tight inks...I especially like the plants and flowers growing out of the carcass of a rat...no real crits...

Wow, spent most of my day inking something and then I end it by looking at this great example of ink. That bird is the great, good to see that no matter how much shit is going on around him, all he needs is one thing.

What size is this in real life? And could you make a wallpaper out of a higher res one?

Awesome! The details are nice, but I'd love to see the whole thing about twice as large!

Hey Socar, didnt knew You are a member here. Post as much as You can, I always loved Your ink drawings and paintings. Btw, what paper do You use, if I may ask ?

That drawing is lovelly, that birdie espesially.

As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.

THUNDERCOCK, DV8 - Thank you very much! Glad you like it!

MrozekArt - Thanks! I've been a member here for quite a while, but I just started posting recently. The paper is Canson Mi-Teintes in Sand colour. I just ordered a bunch of new kinds of paper to try, though, because I heard this particular kind isn't of the best archival quality.

JeffZNY - Thanks--glad you like it! I'd like to show off a higher-res one, but I'm almost over my bandwidth allowance for this month already, and my host starts charging me a fortune once that happens.

vigostar - Thank you! The ink is a mixture of Winsor & Newton peat brown watercolour ink and Speedball Super-Black india ink.

    ApolloNuevo - Thanks very much!

Red Mimic - Thank you! I love drawing these little antenna-birds. The original drawing is probably around 12, 13 inches tall--not exactly sure, since I don't own a single ruler (!!!). I might put up some wallpapers on my site next month, if I manage to keep my bandwidth under its quota this month.

capt underoo - Thanks very much!

love the detail and composition of this piece.

im just wondering...why the colored paper? to me its rare to see a piece on colored paper that doesnt have some highlight work done in white.

some more contrast on the dead rat would be nice but thats being extrodinarily nit picky on my part.

great work!!! im gonna go look at your other stuff.

Dave Lynch, the size is approximately 12 or 13 inches high, probably 5 inches wide. So it's not that big. I use the coloured paper because I like a bit of a warm colour in the background--looks rather more cheerful than stark black and white (in my opinion, anyhow). I occasionally add highlights, but usually not.

    Anyhow, thanks for the comments!
