Crazy Pills: Yeah the contrast thing I've been trying to work on lately. I realized my pencil drawings always tended to be really light as well, so I think my digital works kind of inherited that sensibility. I've been kind of reteaching myself how to render form doing more studies and stuff than I ever really did before. Its funny how badly assuming you know anything holds you back.

humanNature6115: You got some pretty nice stuff in you sketchbook as well man! Thanks for swinging by!

Tonights study..probably about an hour, from a photo I got off of Characterdesigns.com. I really loved the pose. She got a bit exaggerated in pose in my version...but I kinda like it

The forest is pretty good, the only thing I notice is the white on the photo hits BRIGHT WHITE and yours does not...always the finishing touch for me on charcoal pieces was adding a little white chalk to the highlights

Naomi Thanks for swing by. Yeah, good call on the tree. I think I can be a bit overly tentative with my extreme whites and blacks. I know it's not really much of an excuse for not finishing it, but lunch was over and I just felt like I probably wasn't gonna go back to it so I thought I'd toss it up on the ole sketchbook. Anyway, I'm doin a logo, and maybe just some random art for a friend of mine's grindcore/punk metal band....this isn't it, but its kind of like a warm up....with the devil

Almost done on this one I think. It was originally for the "Interstellar River" EOW, but I didn't finish it time, but I liked it alot so I stayed on it and finally finished it up. I think the spaceship could still use some work on the lighting..but whatever...might be time to move on. Anyway, THAR SHE BLOWS! oh wait...no, its just my crappy art

cool sketchbook you got here. I like the way you describe form.
ubbosathla, that very pink one from a while back and the rocky landscape are my favorites.
do something in bright colors like that again. they obviously work with creepy images as well.

I'm liking your lunch paints James. I sketch at lunch myself most of the time, must be nice to work where there is a Wacom handy lol. Hope all is well for you in R-Town.
