    Joining the fun

Hey everyone! I've watched this thread for a couple of months, and decided that I finally wanted to join in on the fun. Unfortunately, I don't get to draw the figure as often as I would like since I'm still a high school senior, and I only get to draw 4 the figure 4 times a year. My pieces are in order of when I did them, from my first one over two years ago up to my most recent one this past October.
Any comments and critiques would be appreciated!

    First post!
Here are a couple recent figures. I've been deviating towards drawing with a more expressive line as opposed to realistic representation with values lately. Just a matter of time and practice before I find that middle ground.

From this evening. 50 x 60 cm, charcoal on toned paper. A little more than two hours—though, I probably should have stopped drawing sooner...

The work on here is a big inspiration for me. im curious though how exactly does nude figure drawing help with animation or comic art?

If you look through this thread you can see that there are a lot of quick studies or Gesture drawings. Specifically with animation gesture drawings help because animators draw hundreds, thousands of figures to tell a story. You want to be able to knock those out accurately and also very quickly. It's similar with comic art as well, you'll be drawing the same characters over and over again. So figure drawing helps you learn all the different angles/positions that you'll need to have in your head for either profession. Hope that helps.

Hi I hope I'm doing nothing wrong by posting here. I've been taking a nude drawing class since September, but it's only once a month and what with some other commitments I've only had two sessions so far. Poses are 10-15 minutes mostly.
