Just wanted some opinions on these drawings. Both are about 10min poses. Been playing around with the using some tone but then some sharp dark lines to accent. first one has something weird going proportionately with her right shoulder i think.

cquinn : maybe you can draw more contructions lines...take care about angle of lines you draw, and look at "empty" zones ....I hope you understand whaat I mean, I don't write english often.

    Croquis Drawings

I have just joined a local croquis society. We draw three hours every week. There is no teacher, so I would like some critiques to improve my drawings. The poses are 1/2, 2 and 4 min poses.

ranunkel, I think you don't have to worry and just draw. Try to not be "glued" on your papersheet, to see model and drawing in the "same" time. Take care about angles of lines, and look at kevin chen drawings to understand volumes :

I hope my english is good enough to be understand. :-/

Thanks for the comment. I went to life drawing yet again last night and did some exercises concerning what you mentioned. Negative space drawings, contour drawings and was working on using some construction lines as well. It was interesting and productive imo so thanks for the advice and inspiration.

I haven't posted here in a long time, Hi everyone!

I'm happy announce that I've started up a Zatista account where I'll be selling my charcoal drawings from. I'm really hoping this works out because it seems like a good place to sell artwork. There are no fees to list my work on the site, and you have to be approved to show on the site, bringing a little exclusivity to the site which is not a bad thing in my opinion.

Right now I only have 20 pieces on my page but I plan on adding more in the coming weeks. If this proves lucrative I may expand into uploading other types of art on there. If you want to check it out you can either click on the "Store" link on the top of my page, or you can follow this link:

    Second Night

Last night was my second time to attend the Corquis Society's life drawing sessions. We had 1/2 min. and 2 min. poses and one 4 min. I find it hard to get the hole figure down on the paper when we do the short poses, but I guess it is practice practice and practice!

I copied and pasted all my poses into a collage. The 4 min pose is the on with the figure standing with one foot on a chair.

    Hey everyone,

Some awesome work in this thread! I've just started going to a weekly untutored life drawing class, so any crits much appreciated. Will try to post stuff up each week. These are first attempts (15 min poses):

I was told that former students at my former school may come to the life drawing class if they want. 1,5 years after graduating at the school I take the opportunity to get free drawings classes - to reach my 10000 hours asap

The more I drew the more I came to my level when I left that school - the drawings are in the order of their creation. The woman was last week and the fat guy was this week.

Unfortunately the poses are 20 minutes maximum - I´d prefer longer ones.

    Week 4

    Hey there,

So, as per previous post, I recently started going to a weekly (semi) untutored life class and am gonna post up the results here each week. Would really appreciate any crits. I didn't keep anything from the first two sessions, so here is week 4. I ditched the pencils this week and tried drawing with charcoal for the first time which was a lot of fun, don't think I'll go back! These were taken with a phone camera so sorry for poor quality.

I like that last one Lightpunk! Great work.

Here's some stuff I drew in a session last night. I might use the last one in an application I'm working on, the requirement is to show my technical skills. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me a way to improve it or if anything's off.

    Croquis Drawings 22 feb

This week we only had 1/2 - 3 min. poses.
I still find it hard to get the hole figure down on the paper that fast, so practice, practice, practice!

    Good work guys and gals!

Here's my recent 2.5 hr long seated pose female nude, it's done on a computer and I did lug all my equipment to the studio room so I can draw it live. Cheers~

    Week 6

Wow, well done for taking the computer to the life class!

This week we did lots of drawing with the wrong hand, drawing with two hands simultaneously, drawing without looking type exercises, so I won't clutter this thread up with the crap I produced doing that! So just gonna post this for this week, this is a continuous line exercise. I found this pretty hard to be honest and it looks pretty rubbish but I've committed myself to posting up at least one thing from each week to try and get better.

Last August I started attending art school. These drawings are from my first figure drawing class. They were done around the end of my semester. The poses were all about an hour long. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
