Wow.... it's been a long long time since I have posted anything new in here. Honestly, I have totally forgotten about this thread until Lone Wolf pinged in with a response(thanks dood)!

I've got 2 full sketch books that need to be scanned in. Hoping to find some time this up coming week to post a few if not more. I also took some time to fix those broken links in the previous pages.

Mr.Blonde, it was really great meeting you and really enjoy your abstract work. Actually, all your work is coming along and looking great! The Marko inspired piece was well done and looking forward to seeing more work from you and chatting as well.

this1...> Yeah, agreed. That Mutalisk is very old. It hurts me everytime I look at it now. Guess I just grabbed that one to just slap on some colors, but I will let that one RIP for now on. Got plenty, and I mean PLENTY of newer sketches that desire some paint overs.

    Mike!

Your thread on the main page is just dope! Now it's a deal... I will make sure to scan AT least 5 pages before this upcoming week ends. Is it strange to ONLY want to draw monsters all day long?

And for all you monster lovers out there, check this out!!! "There’s a louse that consumes a fish’s tongue and replaces it with itself. Cymothoa exigua was discovered inside the mouth of a red snapper bought from a London market. The louse had grabbed ahold of the tongue and slowly eaten it away until only a stub was left. It then latched onto the stub and became the fish’s tongue — getting a free meal after having fed on the tongue artery while it ate away."

It's so fucked up and it's real! Read on and see for yourself...

1.) That is abolutely horrifying ,disgusting and amazing all at one. I wanna fish-louse tongue

2.) Feel like an ass that I didn't get to meet you at Montreal. I heard only good things about you, but perhaps I got overwhelmed.

    3.) Your work is kickass

4.) I really do want a fish-louse tongue- but only for a day.

I got the creative itch tonite and painted the last posted sketch. This was a the first painting in awhile where everything just clicked and went fast. If anybody wants to see the walkthru, just let me know and I will post it in the thread.

donkeyslayer---> Word dood! BTW, nice 'Metrosexual Pirate' pic. You've really captured the essence of Android.

Mike---> Yeah, that sketch makes me want to create a whole series that are inspired by Barlow. Just love his work and renderings... so goood. Let me know what you think about the painted verison.

Main Loop---> I think you just made me blush... guess that means my stuff is improving

All right! Back to the bat cave....

great stuff.I wonder how you manage to get all that bloody detail in a tiny monster, how big are your SB pages?
VEry nice creatures, neat designs, kick ass dirty-style rendering (like mine), and overall very cool "style".
Kick ass style, show us some more fully renderend coloured stuff, those are even better

almost forgetting, keep it up and enjoy the stars

    ciao

Damn these sketchbook forums move FAST!

TheGnoll---> My sketchbook is 8 1/2 x 11. I usually sketch fairly small in order to work out the shapes easier and not get caught detailing. When I do the detailing, I use a mechanical pencil .5 tip that is 2 hb lead. The fine sharp point allows me to noodle EVEN thou the drawings are small. It's fun, try it.

To everyone else, glad that you dig the work and style. Here are some more pages and different subjects(still creatures thou). As you will see the last 2 pages are purely play of shapes. Each one could be blown up, detailed, rendered, and finalized. Of course, I am more in love with the creation of shapes rather than the final, so my pages are full of these types of thumbs and rarely seen thru to a finished state. BUT! I am trying to change my pattern and finalize some of these bad boyz.

Totally forgotten about this thread, but I'm back to post a little update. Here are 2 more pages of monstru's. As far as I recall, there are the last pages in my older sketchbook. Got 150page of new stuff that I have not scanned in yet. Rest assured, it's alot of stuff coming by the end of this year.

Hey man, great stuff you got here!
I just remembered I read your name on the strychnin gallery homepage some time ago, just checked it again and it said you had an artshow there in october/november.. it's just your name in the section for upcoming shows, nothing else.
I'd love to see your art up close so if you have any more informations, please share them

    cheers!

Cool sketches, nice to see your process and starting point for your creatures. I've always been a drooling retard fan of your photomanip work, have any rough or wip illo work in that vein you could show us? What do I have to do? Oh my, my pants have disappeared. This will only get more awkward until I see some art...

bradley---> Yeah, I jam pack the pages. Awhile ago I met Sammy and saw his sketchbook and completely flipped because he draws fairly small. Each page had 15-30 designs and most of them were solid. So I kinda adapted that idea of drawing smaller and filling up the page with designs. That way, it's easy to just grab one, enlarge it, and polish. But I never get to the polish stage considering I've got 20 gazillion other things going on.

nacho---> Details are still being worked out concerning the gallery show. As soon as I have more info, I will make sure to post them

strych9ine---> Yer sweet, thanks man. Showing sketches from my creature sketchbook is the only thing I can show right now. But I will see if I can whip something up or have an older file with steps.

Finally got a moment to do something for myself digital related last night. It's not monster or sketchbook related, but figured that I would post it anyways until I get my ass in gear to scan my newest sketchbook pages.

Plus I know some of you like my digital creations
