ok here is another one. But I think her right arm might be funky I'm not too sure, so if any body has any ideas on it, or I'm just tired and it's fine let me know. Also I'm sorry guys but no character tomorrow I'm am leaving at the butt crack of dawn for a wedding in Wisconsin. Next week I am going to paint all these bad boys, and do all the fixer upers. So I guess farewell untill mon. Enjoy!

Although I like the hair in and of itself, I'm not sure it works with this pose. Her entire action is thrusting forward, and the hair doesn't go with that. You could either modify the hair to go with the pose, or modify the pose (from hips down) to go with the hair. (Or neither...feel free to ignore me completely )
Her rib cage is a little massive, and her trunk is a little short, which combine to make her a bit manly. You could trim back the shoulder blade under her extended arm and bring her crotch down slightly. (Speaking of the crotch, the cameltoe's a little much.)
The positioning and foreshortening of the rear arm doesn't look quite figured out yet.
The sword in her near hand seems dinky, and the design is sort of plain. In fact the whole costume design is a little blah. Maybe give her some scarves or a loincloth over that unitard to compliment the action of the hair?

Get a knife, imagine a scary looking something in front of you, slice it through the air, and stop...Look at yourself in the mirror...Do you see your hand???
After making a horizontal cut, the blade should have followed the arc of the cut...It's plane should be almost parallel to the ground...I can understand if this was way after the act of cutting, but then it loses it's movement...If this is the beginning of a slice, then her palm should face up...
Her right wrist is pointed down, while her left is pointed up in relation to the forearm...They should be the same, or close to the same...
Otherwise, another good sketch...

great concepts. really, i cant wait to see them painted. the last one, my favorite, bugs me just slightly. it is so well drawn and convincing, except for her hair. to me it looks like you attempted to capture her darting from right to left, and also just at the point when she is about to dart or lunge back to the right. its confusing! her arms are stretched back hard as if she’s about to charge full throttle forward, yet her hair isn’t receiving any of that shock. hair is not that stubborn. the way it looks to me now is like she’s colliding with stiff ribbons of her own hair. ouch! If she was about to lunge forward then it should begin to scrunch up near the scalp, as oppose to being pulled so harsh by the first dart. then again if she was still sliding across from right to left then it would be more convincing if maybe an oblique plane under her feet was there to show her movement. her facial expression is also stunning by the way.

MY SISTER JUST HAD A BABY BOY!!!!!!!!
I wish I was there to see her push the sucker out. she was about 3 weeks early. I was going to fly there and see the birth, but oh well.
well, I just had to tell someone and no one was answering their damn phone.
I'm soo excited!!!
K. back to painting. I will post my painted character tonight, but I most likey won't have it finished untill tomorrow.
Elwell: Hey man! thanks for stopping by again, I always appreciate your crits. Yeah I'm not too sure about the arm either, and the sword I can definitley design better, thanks for pointing that out, the loin cloth idea is really a good idea, because I like the hair, and I was drawing her like she was a warrior orc, getting ready to do some dirty ground sword fighting in a windy battle, lol. So I 'm thinking the cloth blowing forward will add to the wind movement, thanks for giving the suggestion. Oh! and you don't like the cameltoe? I thought I was doing all you guys a service? lol! friggin cameltoes, you gotta luv em!!
DSillustration: thanx Dan!! I'm glad you like the cameltoes! and... the expression lol!! you rock the Kasba!!
Unit18_Nate: thanks for stopping by yes I think you are right along with Tristen, the swords are a bit boreing. the lip I like. I think since it is a small picture you might be mistakeing the shadow under her lip as part of it. when I paint it later, the lip will be in it's proper place, and if you still don't like it, you are free to rag on the lip all you want, and say "I just hate that friggin lip" or "man that friggin lip blow my %&#@' zzz" or any such phrase you choose to slander my good name with.
haha! all joking aside I really do appreciate your crit. thank you!
Kanji2000: yeah! I totally agree with you! man I told everyone I'm bad at gesture. ok so yes I need to change that, thank you!
kinjark: hey again! ok so I read your crit. like, I don't know, 5 or 6 times. I'm not sure what you mean by right to left movement. but here is what she is doing, and I probably need to add some blood to show more of the action. But she just cut someone, with her knife like a slash scissor cut.The wind is blowing forward to add chaos, and creating a symbolic hair shape to extend her growl to the enemy. haha! does that make sense?
Thank you for your crit and nice words I will keep reading your post, maybe i'm missing something.
k guys so I will post my painting here soon. it won't be done, but that way I can get your guys opinions, I really appreciate everyones post, thanks again dudes!!

Can you post a close up of the face? it looks good to me as it is. I love the green background reflecting on her skin. and the hint of hair and the red of the ear is great too. I would say pull some of that red of the ears into the face (maybe the nose area) and then leave it alone and move on to the armor. the reflection you'll have on it will affect the colors of the face as well, and it would be a shame to do a ton of work in the face and then have to change it all becasue it does not work with the armor.
oh man, if this is a preview of things to come then i can't wait til you get to the last one you posted.
