Hey man, good to see you rockin' the moleskine! Haven't been by here in a while, laying a little low recently. I'm digging all the new stuff though! The improvement is definitely evident. I'm really digging the procrastination/figure studies, you're capturing the form with few lines... line economy = better. I'm also digging the SP, good job on showing the planes of the face. The shaolin monk is great too, wouldn't mind seeing more of that digi. action. But keep thing's going man, it's looking good. Cheers.

These are looking good dude, right perspective and proportions. Neat. Uhm, the asian girl - next to the girl eating with chopsticks - I think you chopped off the back of her head a bit hmm?

Wooden doll at the top is nice too.

    This is cool, http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1157447283
I like how the uhm, underpainting/ground is showing through. Makes for a nice effect.

Cheers dude, draw some more. Skip class or something

Interesting distortions. Try to maintain those simple, sure lines in your more naturalistic work.

Your sketchs (as usual) are just fantastic... I always enjoy your updates. That being said, I'd really like to see something more considered and finished every now and again. Maybe you could do a DSG topic if you're having trouble thinking of something, or maybe illustrate a scene from a book or something. I don't know... I think that you can in some ways learn more from a finished work than from countless sketches. If nothing else, it's something for your mom to proudly display on the fridge!

Keep up the good work, and keep your chin up as well. I know it's easy to feel like you're in a slump, but working on ideas really helps breed new ones.

Take care man, and be good.

Really like the strong, dramatic lighting in this one. I think part of what's making him look stiff is the tilt of his pelvis, and the stance of his legs. Sooo... Maybe spread his legs a little, and tilt his hips forward a bit. That should help his stiffness a bit. Also (I'm sure you already know this) his arms are a bit apeish.

This is, though, an excellent start to a drawing. I really like the composition, and lighting, and the fact that you chose to have the dudes back to us. That's a tricky angle, and takes some guts to attempt. I hope you work on it some more, cuz it really does have potential!

    Keep on Rockin man!

Woomoleskiiiiiine!! I haven't stepped in here recently [my apologies buddy ] but i'm glad I did. Your pencils are top notch, glad to see you slowly grinding them out, even with schoolwork and such. I definitely have to agree with Tensai too, once you're on a roll you just have to keep pushing. It's sort of like getting the star in Mario Bro's. Noone can stop that ish. Cheers man.

    Great update P!

I really like those full body SPs there. Line work (as usual) is superb, and the modeling of form is really coming along in leaps and bounds... Keep up the great work man! I know it's hard to find the time, but maybe try finishing something up to show us too.

I always look forward to seeing new stuff from you man! Like I said, keep it up and don't lose heart!

These last figure studies of yours show a real improvement in understanding the figure and also I like the fact that they are not so "messy". Huge improvement on the overall line quality. Congrats to you. More please in this manner.

    haha thanks everybody!!
placeboast - i fell like i've always been able to do that uhm kind of drawing with the figure as long as i have somebody to pose for me, but
listing - that's shockingly encouraging, really.
KC - a finished piece? humm that means i get assignment from you guys too? ah shucks. school is on overload and i'm barely able to push the buttons that make it cool off. but you have a great point and i'll be thinking about something.
zord - oo yay, i got a mario star. you've been pretty hot too my friend.
    purb - thanks bro.
matt - you need a moleskine. i got it at barnes & noble. ten bucks.

anyways - uhm some drawring i'm happy with. the girl on the chair(my friend) was really hard to get the foreshortening on the torso right. and sorry about the bad scans. but what can you do?

and why can't i figure out how to make the color work right? gosh it's so fickle.

Geez man! These are all really solid drawings!

Really like all of them, and especially the last one... It seems to me that you got the forshortening pretty well. My only crit of this one is that there's no evedence that she's actually sitting on the chair. What I mean is that there's no give in the cushions, and no ripple of wrinkles in the upholstery. Does that make sense?

Awesome work P! You're inspiring me to draw right now... Hopefully it doesn't wear off too fast! Ha-ha!

    hey guys thanks.
kc - i know what you mean about the cushion.
yes matt you do need one, BUT, not at the expense of your games~ so you need to get on line more. i have nobody to talk to.
here's my friend from here facebook photo album. btw matt that's a good place to get refs sometimes.

hey if anybody wants to know. the reason i put the color is so that there is less contrast in the pictures and therefore a much smaller file size. uhm i don't mean to sound smart-alecky.
