hey, keep going with these... the more you draw, the better you'll get. make sure to pick up some traditional anatomy books to get your basic proportions/muscle masses down. your still lives are probably your strongest point, so keep those coming. good luck, and have fun.
Sawa and Odds: thanks, ill work on some of that stuff. but i dont really have much freetime right now.
here are some new drawings. various mediums, charcoal, ink, marker and pencil.
they are mostly from life.
this piece is going to have alot of time put into it. a two day drawing at school but im going to add a lot of stuff to it. just things that have been inspiring me lately. you can kind of see the graffitti influence w/ the arrows. this ones graphite and soon a big mixed media. 18X24
crits are much appreciated.
very accomplished and confident in your work, perhaps some more sensitivty to what you're looking at, i see some very skilled work, but it doesnt show a history of understanding, like... i guess its kinda arty farty, but the marks used to portray one thing seem to be used to portray another without any sensitivity to the uniqueness of each surface quality.
forms are very strong i must say.
dire-musaera - Thanks a lot. Line variation is something i am trying to work on. I see exactly what your saying. I read in a book that if you have meaningfull lines and not so proportinate proportions, the image will still look nice, due to the line variation. also proportions are a starting to be a big focus. im trying real hard (ARGH)
well here is my post.
A guy at school reading a newspaper
A girl at school
An outside part of my school
Some of the geese in and around the nicer lake on campus
as always crits are welcome and encouraged.
dang, very strong, however I don't understand what the large over hanging object is above the the guy reading the newspaper
It's Mike, from class. Your drawings are really good. I like your drawing of the bench and trash can outside the campus. I can even tell where it's at. Your geese are good too and you've got a grasp on people (something I can't do)
Great job. I dig your photo thread too. Awsome stuff in there.
Good job, I like the third still life and the geese best. Did you finish the drawing you started at school? Would be interesting.
styler: thanks man, its an arrow. thats all
Bohh: Hey man, thanks.
taxman: Thank you, and no i haven't I've been busy.
Azeira: Right on, I draw when i can/ feel inspired.
Sorry for the lack of updates. Ive been focusing on webdesign lately learning more about it, mostly flash stuff, I also got a job making a website for a photographer recently emoart.org, Its not finished yet. I have also been focusing a lot on my photography. im getting ready to do a series called Social Noise. Ive been experimenting with the way the images will look. To see the tests (these are tests the content means nothing) you can go to my New Photography thread.
but on to the sketches.
these are from the last few days of the Fall Semester. We just drew classmates...each was 5 min... Sorry for the crappy image quality, the size for all but 1 ia 18X24 so i used a point and shoot with no good light.
this one was done with a stick dipped in ink. it was fun
this was a two day long still life
eggs and a papertowel
this was done a couple of nights ago. a SP
Don't let this thing die! Let's see some new stuff
