    Fantasy paintings - Dungeon Magazine

Hello, long time no see I have a tendensy to lurk whenever I'm really busy.
Anyway, I thought I'd post some fantasy full pages I've done for Dungeon Magazine lately. I'm doing one every month. My personal happiness with my work on these varies for every picture, sometimes I feel I did a good job sometimes I wish I could do it all over But, that's the good thing about doing one each month, I know I can try to do better next time. Also, I try not to spend too much time on these, as it's smaller jobs mostly made for fun. But, i like fantaasy, its a subject I'm not too experienced with so I love doing these regardless of the fact that it's not my strongest field. And there's alsways some interesting/weird subject to paint.
Some might have seen a couple of these on my page or in the magazine, as it's some time since they were released, but I thought I could post them anyway

this one is probably the one I'm most happy with of these 3...

I really like how those pictures turned out and I especially like the top image of the castle. The effect is well done in those.

Nice work, I dunno if you want c&c, but I'll give it anyways..
I like all 3, but the first one I feel the castle doesn't look like it is far away and should probably be more faded into the fog I think.
The second one I like the character designs, the envirement doesn't do much for me though. It does seem murky like it should, but it could be more interesting in regards to the envirement.
I like the last one's vibrance in comparison to the others, the colors are nice, but the stance of the women looks too relaxed. She is very well made though.

Dude! Couple of these I haven't seen.. drop by your homepage every now and then to see what you've been up to. Guess I'm not good enough at keeping tabs over at storedyret

My favourite is the "Hall of harch reflections".. All of 'em are real strong! Good job!

my only crit is that the woman in the last one is way to stiff. She needs to be moving around and dodging those creatures.
    but in general... kudos

I like'em... I just feel they need a bit more contrast... but that can be fixed by adjusting the curve in Photoshop.

    wow

Love the Black Wall Keep! awesome awesome. My only comment is what Kon mentioned- the woman in the third picture has a very stiff pose for facing such a huge creature haha She also seems to be turned somehow not facing him the right way if they were fighting.

    great stuff though!

    cheers~

Nice work mister. I particularly enjoy the last one, though the second one has great light in it. Keep it up brother.

That's way cool artwork here...and some more cool images on Your website. Champion's Belt is my fav here.

As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the kind repies. I really warms my heart to see that so many like these. thgough there are stuff that needs improvement, which people have commented and I agree on totally.

Anyway, here's a personal answer to you all...

Jason Manley, thanks man for kind words. Let's hope they will get better and better as well No fun without improvements.

o0Dave0o, thanks man. Castle pic is my personal fav, so im glad you like it.

    FuT, thanks a lot !

Sawa, thanks mister. I think I agree with you. Theres something with the composition of the 2nd that never really made me totally happy.

Kon, thanks ! Crits are always good. I totally agree with the fog thing about the first one. I regret that I never made it more hazed to get some depth. The 2nd. one I agree the room is a bit boring. It was hard to do something more to it, as this was the description, but it's always possible to make more out of things, so I should try harder The 3rd one, I agree a lot. It was a clear part of the image description that the girl should look like if she was in control, not tense or scared. but, another pose could probably have made this more clear without people reacting to it. Thats often a problem with these types of illos, that the story behind is something that doesn't always come through with the picture alone, and therefor things might look odd when you don't know the full story. But, as an artist I agree you should be able to make the picture stand on its own feet.

el coro, thanks as always, my mate.

hurricane, thanks a lot. Yep, I agree with you. read what I said to kon about the girl, but as I also said to him, i could always have made it more clear.

dCept, hey another norwegian. nice to hear you are visiting my page. I wish I was more active at Dyret, but so little art is being posted that I find it hard to motivate myself to being active there. thanks for the comments btw.

JoshuaTheJames, thanks man. Long time since I've seen any art from you here as well. Or maybe I just missed a couple of threads ?

DV8, thank you. good to see that taste is different as well, that proves that you can't make everyone happy with 1 picture.

Vague, thanks ! Yup, seems like this is a general feeling about her pose. But, I'mnot all guilty, if you read what I said to Kon.

JAGrello, thanks. Really ? wow, I though I had gone almost overvboard with the contrast. But, it's always a problem with digital stuff, it might seem different on every monitor. Hopefully they work well on print with the contrast. i always try not to go to far with the contrast, not very glad in over contrasted pictures, but i guess then i sometimes are being to careful.

I.was.ink, thanks for nice compliment !

No Sleep, thanks !! hehe, I guess I have to say the same to you as the rest that reacts to the girl you have a good point I agree, but it started out as something intended, but I guess I didnt pull it off they way it should. read my answer to Kon.

    liquidwerx, thanks bro !

The Zombie, haha, sure come and give me a hug

tgfx, thank you. guess i can't please everyone with everything. But, glad you liike the 2 first.

Lone Wolf, thanks ! funny how people prefer different ones.

    ghostofmacbeth, thanks!

spartan, thank you. That's a very nice complement !

Marko Luna, thanks a lot !!

rinaldo, tanks bro. Long time no see. What have you been up to ? I've always loved your stuff. Please post some !

lyon, thanks bro ! I see you are doing quite some stuff for Dungeon Magazine as well. Love your covers, your doing a very good job with those. I especially liked the last one you just posted, just never got to post in your thread.

MrozekArt, thanks man ! very nice to hear you like my work !

mikecorrioro, thanks a lot. I like your stuff a lot too so we are even

witchking, thank you ! yes I totally agree with you. Wish it wasn't to late, a simple operation which would have given the picture a lot more depth

francis, thanks bro!. Yeah I try to post something once in a while. I suck at being an active poster, I must improve. I have so much I'd love to post here, but sadly most of it hasn't been released yet. Always nice to hear from you. looking forward to see more posts from you, I've really loved everything you've posted lately.

    thanks again everyone !

Very Nice. I like the 2nd one the best. With all the diagonals, and the 3 charaters forming a triangle on the page, plus the nice perspective, makes it the most dynamic of the 3 pieces.
