    The Hick's Perspective

Thank you for the post of the step by step process you've done. It has cleared up a few things that I didn't understand from Smellybug's tutorial and gave me new thought about how do future sculpts. Especially the scoring the initial sculpy to help the additional layers bond to it.

Wow. That was awesome. Love the character design. Can you still work on a area you used the turpenoid on? Why'd you leave the eyball forms out? Was it for effect? If so it looks interesting as heck that way. Beautiful job. Thanks for sharing...

    Thumbs up

I tried Fimo a long time ago on it's own and wanted to burn the damn thing I hated it so much. Do you find it softens up SuperSculpey to your taste ?

    Lightbulb

I can't thank you enough. This is great inspiration. I have recently started to study sculpting to make maquette busts for the main characters of my Graphic Novel. And this is a welcome surprise.

Btw I heard through the grape vine that you have your own personal book in the works. I can't wait!

    Thanks,

    -Joshua

    There you go done!

I will post one or two comments on the tutorial to explain some crucial steps in between the pictures when I've got more time.

    Hope that helps.

    Take good care.

    Nice job, man.

I think you pulled off a great 'slightly-exaggerated' visage - excellent subtleties in the mouth, ears, front-neck, and brow. I like it.

If I may: - I'd be careful about the direction of your creases and wrinkles in the face - many of them are great, but some pull in directions where muscles don't really pull - like the ones from the corner of the mouth to the outer-jaw... maybe some contrasting angles would help - in the neck, as well. (this is, of course, very small - your sculpt is great).

I'd love to know how heavy you apply the turnpenoid - and what kind of brush you are using.

Also, what tools are you using to get the great wrinkles and creases in the skin?

    Sweet sculpt.

    What a great face!

I love the expression and the thick bull-like neck. And the detail and wrinkles are really impressive.

I've enjoyed your 2D stuff but I'd love to see more of your sculpts...
