    stuff

Nothing too impressive but guess i might as well. Most of the shaded ones are a couple years old. Maybe i lost the way with it as i got older, i don't know.

Hey some pretty nice drawings you got there K-17, i like the Aragorn one. You should finish it off and put some colour on it, or just shading. And i like the Phoenix/Firebird (correct me if i'm wrong) in the downward spiral. You seem to have a good grasp of drawing charcaters/people so just keep at it

    Nice start for a sketchbook.
I have never been a fan when it comes to manga/anime, but your stuff looks good. Are the characters fan art or have you done the design? The girl with a cloak is very nice. That cowboygirl is maybe my favourite. Love the clean strokes.

Draw, draw, draw and make this thread daily, will you.

    Thanks

The phoenix thing is just a fire trail shaped like a beast at the tip. It doesn't really have any underlying theme. I try to work on my effects skills: fire, water, explosions, that kind of thing.

Some of them are fanarts, some of them aren't. The girl with the cloak is from Boogiepop Phantom. The cowboy girl is from a poster there was at my school bar, about some footwear i think. She was there haunting me every day so i decided to keep her.

It's been a while (if you still remember me). Been wrapped up with art school and my ever increasing wonder at just where my money's going.

Anyway, i've sort of vowed to take a self-induced crash course with painter and photoshop this summer vacation, to see if i can finally get my skills anywhere. Still got a week's worth of annoyance to go but i thought i'd try something. It's not much.

Hopefully, i'll beat the lazyness that's been plaguing me all this time and crank out something worth showing as i progress.

It's been a while. Too long really.
I got some time to work on my drawing now that school's out. Pretty much the same thing i set out to do last year and failed miserably, hopefully without the failing miserably part this time around. These are some figure studies i've been doing these last couple days. They're still kinda clumsy, specially the earlier ones. I'll post more as i get them done.

Did some stuff for an illustration assignment over at class. We were supposed to make some pics for some kind of children's book. Could pick whatever story we wanted. I picked the version of Little Red Riding hood that's told in Hiroyuki Okiura's Jin-Roh.

My work has evolved somewhat between each piece. Maybe it's from having done them in such a short time span. Anyway:

Cover - Settled on a somewhat steady method for shading and coloring. Not that great yet but the result comes off as rather believable. At least when you put it on paper anyway.

Girl meets wolf - Somewhat improved the astmosphere, i think. It's also the first piece i felt good enough to remove the pencil lines altogether and do it all in photoshop. Main reason is i learned how to make decent lines with the brush (with painter) and thus finally became able to paint a piece entirely in cg (doesn't mean i'll quit using the pencil though of course). Layered a blank sheet on top afterwards for some texture.

Girl - Improved my linework with the brush and steadied the shading method. I think i got a slightly better understanding of how to do this now.

Wolf - I don't rightly know how i managed to pull this one off. I understand what i did to get it like this but never expected it to turn out so well. Probably my best cg piece yet.

Couple of studies on stuff, and a more serious piece i had to put on hold once classes started.

Still gonna finish the last one, just might be a while so i'm putting it up as well. It's from a picture, first attempt of mine at this sort of thing.
