    Shiny discovery

Hi. Hope here's some people willing to help.

Here is a WIP thing done in photoshop. I've tried to concentrate on dynamic lighting and colors. Don't know if achieved some.

I don't surely know what to do with the environment.
Not affraid of critique, Please reply.

I really like the guy on the right, but the one on the left just seems too silly. His face is too bright aswell. I also think it should have some kind of background (maybe a gigantic monster looming behind them both perhaps?).

a think a little more more detail to make a little more depht, and the idea about the looming monster is nice to, maybe a giant spider perhaps?

I like the guy on the right as well. The guy on the left though, why is he hold his knife like that? I think it would work better having him with a look of aww on his face, and looking like he is trying to get a better look. Not sure about the monster behind them idea. Maybe a foreboding shadow effect...

    Moved

This piece was moved from CC to SWIPs, because it is not of a complete enough quality for a Finalized Critique.

What's wrong with this picture? "Shiny Discovery"

This picture has a great many things still needing attention to even be close to completed on a great many levels.

The one that bothers me immediately, and the most, are the light sources for this piece.

Ignoring the strange background directional spotlight originating from the rear end of one of these guys (okay, who ate the beans?), I did a markover of the light eminating from our title:
    .

The Chinese Proverb, "One picture is worth 10,000 words," will hopefully help here.
Keep in mind the terms Radiance, Intensity, Brightness, High Points, Night Vision, and Balance...

The lack of a background, or any ground whatsoever hurts this piece the most.

BTW, the red line was supposed to stop at the top of the sleeve. Forgot to erase everything to the right...sorry.
