Matias's SB, 67% less fat.
Here's a long long journey full of broken links and bad english. Most stuff that's over 2 years old is gone ( thank god).
I'll try to update often from now on...gotta get a scanner one of this days

These are really great. I like how you've done them.
I personally like:
Slaves: 5-"Inside you bit*%es!!!!!!" - the cave really ads to the feeling of oppression.
Front: 2-"Resting in the medows" - the composition works well and isn't overly cluttery.
also from Front, I like 3-" The war maiden" for much the same reason as 2. It has a strong focal point and center of interest, but also allows room for the needed text.
Stables: 1-"open stable" - this one is very direct, and appealing to me.
Seneschal: 5 "comanding the imps" - I like this one because of the implied storyline and opportunity for characterizations.
Turn the Land:
3-" Chop chop" is your strongest one out of this set, and tells the story as well.

Hello, im back with some more extra stuff, plus other thumbs, hope you like it and help me decide the best composition for the job ( the extras are just for fun )
Description: Scouts; Its for a souting option to find more parcels. The picture was requested to be composed from the scouting party just looking around...it ist supose to be an important pic, is more like a functional pic :9
And a little sketch for fun:

More thumbs and stuff.
Description: Is a functional ilustration ofr the scouting function of the thieves, the function is to send a scout to gather information about a city/town, so it can be looted, sabotaged, or to kiddnap commoners, etc.
It was requested that the thief must be on horse, looking at the town ....despite that the last one is a no-horse alternative that is much more effective in terms of function in my opinion...but waht do you think? ( and about the other scout thumbs as well, your help is really important )

Hey your thumbnails are good but i would suggest moving the horizon line lower you draw from the perspective of a very tall person like someone in a watchtower. I notice this in a lot of your pictures. Great storyboarding though, i hope my comments help.

noeltaylor : Thanks, but that type of perspective view isnt nessesary ( and you can place the camera anywere, it doesnt have to be a person looking...i think), anyways thanks for your time
Theo : Thanks, im glad you liked them

I like these..they make me smile, don't know why.
you describe the materials and textures well with the colours.
i think the wood could be a little more well 'woody' but great stuff altogether.
thanks for your comments on my post.yes, what i'm doing there is an excercise.

I guess you wanna be a concept (characters) designer. Well, here is 1 of your competitors. YOu have the ideas, however, I really wanna see how well you can do on paper with pencil (old fashion way). YOur paintings look ok. I'm not really diggin or feelin your colors. I know they're monocromatic.
I just started learnin how to use painter (on Computer), and I know how hard it is. Mines are like sh*t. Just keep practicin & workin.
October 23rd, 2005 #18
wow, very very good stuff lately. those last finished illustrations/concepts are dope. lightning and colors are strong. your use of highlights and colors reminds me a bit of early prom's work :]

great start here Sham, great shading and lighting effects. Keep us updated.

My monocromatic work looks unfinished most of the time no because i dont know how to go further, is becuase for practice i have a 30 minute dead line in every monocrmatic piece.....neverthe less im done with that and as you can see im just posting amost of my work, and not only the ones that i consider 30 minute sketches ( im talking about all the wrok behind the tigel-warriors :9 )
Thank you all...

i cannot believe this topic doesnt get a flood of replies. this is excellent work. your handling of colour, light and brushes is very professional and feels confident. the few things that you need to tweak are usually poses and some of the faces. but then again, this varies from piece to piece.
nice entry for ch.o.w., too. you have a strong sense of design, especially when it comes to non-humanoid creatures. your illustration series for that game concept has a very good and consistent/consequent style.
study on and take this top-notch stuff to the next level :]

Shamagim...These are nice!! I like the storyboards...but I have a little word of advice if you dont mind...Watch putting your main character in the center ...big composition No No, excellent values on the others and your rendering skills are good as well, I expect to see even more great stuff man!, I will watch your thread as well and thanks for the props on my thread too!
October 27th, 2005 #27
wow man. you have a unique and intriging cast of characters here, along with the story boards. each has it's own wonderfully bright and flourescent lighting. keep posting, cheers.

Hanuka : Thank you for your words , im glad you like them, dont worry im working on the faces, im trying to get some of my old anime style i used to draw as a kid to disappear a little, but im getting there, cuase most of the characters in there are months old...and yes, for some reasons humanoids always come easyer to me, maybe becuase i still have to train some more dyniamic poses for characters with common anatomy.
reBirth: Thanks, i will keep an eye on your thread too.
_One thing though, those up there are not actually storyboards, those are composition thumbs for static ilustrations, they look like storyboards because i placed the same situation with different points of view or props Xd, but ill keep your advice when i have to make storyboards. again thank you for your input
Jtoons: Thanks man, im glad you like them, ill keep on postiong some more stuff.
Thank you all the ones who visited my thread
Here are some renderings im making to practice, this are from this morning, hope you like them and sorry for the violent cutout on the guy with armor:
October 27th, 2005 #29

the coloring is looking great,
i love the character and monster designs
October 28th, 2005 #30
Baki: Thanks you, and thats a yes and no, yes i have improved, but as i said before, i though the sketchbook was some sort of speed paint seccion all the work up uppon September 21 is just 30 minute scribes, the ones posted in October 4 are the oldest work i have.....but all my proggress is thanks to CA.org, i really love this site, is like a dream....
Anyways thanks for stoping by, here´s some new stuff:
Here is an update on the alley cat thumb
Thanks for your support
