Hey! I really like your stuff and that tutorial is pretty interesting.
This may not be a very important crit, but i'll say it anyway, because i think thats something that you may not see yourself, cause you're too much into the picture: The position of the guys hand makes the woman look like she's looking away from him. (i thought his hand would be her face)... at your working-resolution, this may obviously not be the case, so maybe you should zoom out more often, or, whatever ^^
i hope this didnt sound too silly.

You have the most pleasing pallette of colors in all your works! The portrait looks great, I'm a total stranger to oils though. Is it a self portrait by chance? Keep posting man, we need more!

Shyam, that tree is very beautiful with its Autumn colours. But that oil painting... It's stunning. You master so many techniques; digital drawing, digital painting, oil painting, pencil drawing, pen drawing, vector... You rock, man!

Really fabulous to see the oils self portraits. I too have been wanting to do a series of pieces in oils, but have been procrastinating for some time. You have inspired me to get off my lazy bum. Thank you, Shyam.

Shyam was always a super artist, not just now . Go look at the beginning of the book, he was always unreachable, ahead.
I love your new portraits, Shyam. I went to compare it with your earlier one. You look thinner, my dear, much thinner and more vulnerable. Your work ate a lot of you, some flesh from your cheeks disappeared. But even without your portrait I can tell you are always on fire, inspired by so many things and drawing and painting so much.
Why didn't you draw your historical character? I wanted to see your version. That's OK, of course. Maybe your inspiration can't be forced on you, maybe it comes to your naturally.

Both portrait are good and very similar in features to each other and very consistant in the face expression,. I believe it is one person. You will not get angry at me, I hope, if I will say again, that you are still very romantic as i see you in your portrait. Such a funny combination of sad, even a little bitter expression and romantic, wonderful, inspired hair. Combination of romantic and extremely realistic features in one portrait.
Both portraits, but black and white especially can be seen as our contemporary and as face from centuries between us, IMO. I think the last one was your reminiscences of someone's image with lackey collar, hat with feathers and sword attached to his belt across his chest. It is you today and you in your first incarnation, some Spanish noble senor. .

Great portrait, I would hang it on my wall, you look like you stand near me, face is alive, eyes are alive, and expression is heart melting, breaking barriers between hearts, deep.
I love your face, it beautiful and sad. And very human, warm. But not dramatic or tragic, lightly sad, without demanding anything from anyone, saving yourself with your own means.
And I love your hair. I would let down a little hand made boat into your hair and it would swim and dance like in ocean waves, free and unpredictable, it might even get drown in your hair.
But I believe you will be the first to come and save it.
Great portrait. I wish it was in my house.

"Sword in the stone" Oh, it is due today. I wonder what you did with it. Well I can see that you enlarged canvass and added more objects to composition. And it became like a local state fair, I just don't know where to look and to whom first give away my money. So many attractions. It's like beginning of the circus performance, all actors and acrobats and clowns are coming at once and my eyes are coming out of orbits trying to see them all at once .

You don't have a composition here strictly speaking, in my opinion. Lighting appears in parts of the image and suddenly disappears in another, perspective behaves like in a parallel world. I like the sand murderer with a sword for your light suggestive way to show him and I like the mad wizard, although he looks a bit funny too with his round eyes.
I would remove the crazy dame in the air at all, hell with her, she makes me nervous. but you don't have too. it is just me. some other might say let her be.
I hope you are doing great and remember you had this show coming one and half months ago, where you had to paint and make very fast demonstrations in front of many people, 300 if I'm not mistaking? How did it go?
Bye and be extremely well. Don't forget to enjoy life as much as you can. Notice little delights around your. Two days ago I saw a dream that I lost one of my foot somehow. I suffered all night long trying to learn how to walk without it and I was really, truly happy when I woke up and this problem was solved momentarily. Happiness is always near us. we just need to touch it and find our way to it.
