Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
It's been quite a while since I last posted any art here. I have been busy with a bunch of projects. I'll have at least five new paintings to show from Magic: The Gathering at the end of September since the new set will be released then. I'll also be updating my sketchbook thread soon. I'm such a slacker! For now I thought I'd share some digital (I don't do it often) children's art I did just for fun. These were done completely in Photoshop.
I'm with Puppy Kibble here...these are great as is. Sadly, there wasn't anything like this when I was a kid. Nice job...
These are really great, the last one seems the most suited to children though. the others are very dark and grown up, and seem like something the New Yorker, or other large magazine might buy.
great job though, im really digging the smoothness of the color transitions.
Awesome. Love em all.
pray pray pray... ha, I love it. styles for miles.
Awesome stuff! Love it.
WOw Jeff!!! Really suprising stuff because it looks so different from your other art pieces. It's cool and really like what you have created. Keep on going man!
Your fellow slacker
Wow, thanks so much for the great response everyone. Not sure what I expected because digital art has never really been my thing, so the kind words are encouraging.
nephilim - Yeah, I hear ya. I ofcourse still struggle with making things "cute". That dark side of me still comes out even in this more childish art. I am inspired by the fact that more adults than ever buy "children's books" because of the more sophisticated art inside. So I guess I'll see where this takes me.
Jason - glad to see you're still around here as well. I've been so darn busy since April and only now have a chance to relax and show some new work. I wanna see more stuff from you as well. I need my Felix Fix!!
dogfood - My daughter already asked for a Wonderous Woman poster. I think I may have to print one out.
Here are three more pieces. Hedwig was done for my wife who is a huge HP fan and an even bigger Hedwig fan.
I like the style, and the snow owl is lovely.
I love all of these, but that Owl is just awesome. Love your work!
hahahah! these are so fun I love them. The little girl praying is so funny, and Wonderous Women! haha you have got a cool style!
Make wondorous woman your next piece, cuz thats just too awesome. Ill hop on and say that these are really great. You captured a wonderful mood with some of these. More please
Nice work, especially the owl which is kind of romantic. Reminds me of a winter or christmas tale.
"Happen to every guy sometimes this does."
I love that style, great pix
I think the owl is the best as well, is it supposed to be harry potteresk ?? For some reason it really reminds me of hedwig flying out of hogwarts.
Based on some crits, I modified the chinese dragon piece. I removed the wings, made the image wider so the girl's hair wasn't touching the edge and also moved the dragon and girl up a bit so the tail wasn't touching on the edge of the house.
See thats what i like about you Jeff.. the fact that you take peoples advice into consideration.. there are some pro's that dont listen nor respond to anything you tell them if your not a pro... and even some non-pro are like that.. if they think there more talented then you.. anyways.. i love these new works by you... your such a talented fellow.. nice range of works... I think my favorite still is that dinosaur that your son Art directed!!!! anyways thanks for sharing...
BTW- have you noticed that something wierd happens to the fat lady's hair when you scroll up and down...? Just though i'd let you know about a crazy phenominom thats happening in your artworks!!!
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd
I love it!!

"Pray Pray Pray" that is so awsome.

Thanks! I guess some people can't check the ego at the door. I've just never had a big ego. I still feel like I am learning something new everytime I sit down to create. So I don't feel like I am a master at any one thing. I'd love to say I have all the answers for everything and that everything I create is perfect, but that just isn't the case. More often than not I will settle on something without exploring other options either because of time constraints or pure laziness (yes, it happens). So getting others to crit my work and point out flaws is the best way I can think of getting my work refined and polished.Originally Posted by vigostar
As for the crazy phenomenon with the fat lady hair, nothing stands out for me. I say lay off the tequila before hitting CA Or at least share with the rest of the class!!!
Wow...a bit spooky...very cool style. Congrats.
As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.

WOW! You're work is awesome! You're use of color is really stunning. It makes these really stand out.
I'm going to go spend a few hours drooling at your website now.
