    slo slo[UPDATED October 5th]

    HEY READ THIS:

I'm closing this down and taking some advice from a few friends from work and a couple of artists from this site. I want to improve and the general consensus seems to be draw life.

I'll start on that practice and post some stuff up in a new sketchbook for crits. Thanks anyway, everyone.

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep messing around on my scanner. About a year and a half ago I was just about to quit with drawing but it took me a couple of months to realize I just liked to draw despite lack of talent.

    Here's more recent boredom doodles

I really like how the angel3we looks. You should try taking it to the next step and try to render it. If you don't wanna do it on the original, you can always photocopy and practice on the photocopy.
I like the girl next to the guy in one of the last pics, her left breast (our right) looks a bit larger than her left one though.
Another thing to do is some anatomy studies, and then incorporate that into the charachters you make.

    Cheers!

    Hey man, nice start.
You have a nice line quality, maybe you can do some lifedrawings, it's the best practice, also a lot of imaginative sketches like you are doing will make you improve.
Look for some anatomy books, it's a good way to study the human shapes.
    Cheers.
    Keep it up.

This isn't bad, but you need to have about 25 times the amount of drawings here, and they need to be from life. At your stage it's CRITICAL to get some serious ref and life drawing done as much as possible. But still don't neglect doing some artwork from your mind as well. life life life life life, there's a reason everyone preaches it so much around here.
