So this week we will do an experiment...the topic is OPEN!

But please don't forget the standard rules are still valid!!!

So, i don't want to see a sloppy artwork or anything which is hard to categorize as a creature...

    Do a wild creature...
    Do a weird creature...
    Do a fantastic creature...
Do a fucking awesome incredible kick-ass beautiful creature...it's your brain, your imagination, your talent...

    And now...spread out!

    Freestyle?

Damn.... this is gonna be interesting for sure. But with such a wide rage of criteria and types, looks and stories... anyone have a good idea on how we should compare and vote on these? I guess it will simply be which creature and concept captured your interest the most.... but it is going to be hard.

This seems pretty awesome! You'll probably all be glad to know that I won't be drawing a penis monster.

"There's a monster in my pants
And it does a naughty dance
When I come into the room
People hit it with a broom"

You guys can fill in the rest of the song... Or am I the only one who remembers it?

*Never fear! This useless post will soon be filled with Awesome art*

hmm well,i'm not sure if you shouldn't put abit more guidelines into this. i mean, if one draws a space-sucking worm and the other one a muthafukka dragon, how can you choose based on anything else than eyecandy? i mean, freestyle alright, but that's like mixing spaghetti with ice cream and pickles.

well, sometimes a mix of spaghetti, ice cream and pickles is a good alternate to your daily food...and don't you dare to complain...we are trying to do new stuff here

    The Twig-Tailed Beetle-Snatcher

    The Twig-Tailed Beetle-Snatcher

Here we see the voracious snatcher downing a snack while spearing his next helping using his well-adapted digitations. A member of aves, the snatcher shares similar morphology. His bushy twig-like tail is comprised of modified feathers, and his spear-like fingers are simply elongations of a birds usual semi-vestigial digits. Using it's unique cover, this flightless bird waits in ambush for its prey. Then, a swift stab from a finger insures an accurate snare.

Sigh. I'm going to sit out on this one....too much going on. I was thinking of a meatball-based creature that flings ice cream at its victims and has a member lookin' like a Vlassic, but alas....no time.
    Cheers and good luck all!

Having no topic is harder than it sounds ! ahhhhhh !!! Just too many deranged ideas and none of them are worth progressing. And considering my pants effort for my first ever COW for the brain stealer, I have to rack it up a notch. or 50.

    Freestyle

Night Lamp: Given its name based on the glowing gold feathers that light its way at night. Thier purposes are somewhat of a mystery since they are only seen on rare occassions, often when a soul is lost. The day a soul dies, that night one of these creatures are seen walking in the darkest of nights, where the only light is that which shines from thier glowing head. It has been said to have been seen by some that above this glow, lay a halo circled atop the Night Lamps head. Some say they are the links to the afterlife and represent the lost souls who roam the lands. It is believed by science though that somehow the mystery to thier glowing feathers its what leaves them to appear invisible in bright day light, unseen to the naked eye.

No.. I just needed time to work on my tdome round 2 lol so i had to pull something out of my butt for this COW topic, and since its freestyle I thought I would be a little more "free" in designing and just have some fun with experimenting. But thanks lol

    bluefooted: never heard the song

fozzy: he means like a dj at a club, for instance

davi: that was the first thing that came into my head before I read the rest of the entry that said that it was open topic.

I'm proud to fess up that I can do a great Fred Schnider impersonation for Love Shack. Such an easy voice to emulate. Of course, I'm assuming that Schnider is the one that sings that one. If not, it's the other guy.

The Goatheaded Tentacattle with sausage warming leg sacs.
The story behind this creature is that i asked people on irc to give me a few ideas on where go with this CoW topic, and basicly the topic speaks for itself.

I was gonna back davi up and say this was an open topic, so the human-like charactersitics ie: chest, skin, hands..etc would be ok but.

    Fozzy said:
But please don't forget the standard rules are still valid!!!
still luv ya davi, and the lighting is awesome

I hear ya big MikeC - it was tough to write those words, but the basic COW town rules still apply. Distort those human hands or add some digits or somethin'....I want this to go to the final vote zone.

    Cheers!

i was assuming "not human-like" didn't mean it had to be void of mammal/primate features and leaned more to the banning of "star-trek" style creatures where they just add a few bumps to a human's forhead and make up a name.

i think it's alittle clumsy to seperate primate features completely from the design of a creatures.

    The Bear makes the rules-

Its only to keep things in control, because once you start to except creatures that have human arms and holding weapons, then its zombies and vampires..and before you know it, people will be submitting Spok-like creatures

Creature of the Week - to my knowledge is meant to be more animalistic, they cant even be a specific "character" creature.. like the "king" troll, who wears a cape and crown and is a single individual.

If I'm wrong Fozzy...put me in my place and ill shut up
