So I am about to go into my second year for Fine Art at Grant mac and I am thinking about where i wanna go afterwards. I am thinking i wanna go into doing something "concept art" related...however i am looking to get my BFA.
These are the schools I am looking at.
* University of Alberta
* University of Lethbridge
* Alberta College of Art and Design
* Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design
* Nova Scotia College of Art and Design
Does anyone here go to any of these schools??
Can anyone give me some info on which ones are better and which aren't as good??
any tips on any good Canadian art schools??
I am leaning towards the UofA right now..but my main reason is because it's close to where i live however I have not heard great things about the program, so if there is anyone here who goes to the UofA for Fine art, I would really like to hear what you have to say about.
Obviously I can't let myself choose a school that is closest to my location that's why i am trying to make a good educated choice so I can pick a GOOD art school.
Anyone that can give me any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
A bit of background...I've currently just finished a year of 3D animation at Sheridan College...I took interactive media graphics at Grant MacEwan in 1994 and did the 4 years at Alberta college of Art in Calgary 88-92 it was ACA back then not ACAD....this may show my age
I am originally from Edmonton, but I have friends who have taken Fine Arts
at both ACAD and U of A...what I've been told, and my own experiences suggest that U of A is more theory based ( because of the University ) ACAD though now offering BFA, is more application based...more studio time, more time to develop your craft as opposed to lecture halls etc.
