Dude the ref'd work is great keep it up and the digi paint of 'fit bird' is great. Flesh tones need a bit of work but everthing else is great.

    Keep it up.

kian: thanks.. good idea. will do- lateral thinking is always the way to go thanks
    sabe2003: thanks man
dirty_c: yeah... all from the nude ref thread in the photography forum/ref subforum. my aim is to draw every single picture from that thread. thank thank you- you're one of my main inspirations!
coolgraphs: np, anytime man. the references subforum in the photography section {as mentioned before} is fucking excellent for reference pics.
demented: chalk pens and brush pens.. markers pretty much.. thanks very much man, but no way am i at the level of 5 stars. as much of an honour as it is, it's taking the well deserved limelight away from the superstars like dirtyc..
blog: yeah man... fuckfuckfuck. good luck. fuuuck. i added you on msn man.. both the same age and both in the uk.. i need someone like that around
asgardian: keep it up huh? will do. thanks for stopping by man, you're dead awesome. seeing you at the meets is always a pleasure

uhh.. heres the portrait/from life half of the stuff i did in poland

    beloved lion doll

    zebra dollie {actually i have a whole set of african animal plush toys}

    yo, the noid returns

i drew some hands on top of an embarassingly shite drawing

    moar handz

ok, remind me not to paint on top of pencil renderings again. the pencil underneath makes the colours come out all muddy.. god this is shite

ok actually this was turning out well until i blobbed a fuckload of grey paint into the left eye and side of the head which totally screwed up the nice rendering and now the side of the head and inside of the eye look flat.

    dad on le phone

gran... she cant tell i draw her cause she went blind, lol

    pianist at a jazz bar{the guy was fucking mental.. even started playing with his elbows}

more proof that i cannot paint but i am working on it

    selportrait

    again

    again again

    again again again

    againx4

peace people. if i havent returned your comments yet, i will soon

death: i'm diggin the progression too.. hopefully therell be plenty more of it
cigaro: thankyou.. you should get a little looser yourself, eheh, but i could take some inspiration from you as far as attention to detail and patience with rendering is concerned...

This is good It's well drawn, though, unfortunately the pencils merged with the paint a bit. When painting, try to pick up what other colours are involved in the subject. Black/Earl's Grey (or a more concentrated yellow...) doesn't always effectively darken everything. The colours in the subject's surroundings will always bounce off it, and vice versa. It's good that you're diving into paints though. Great stuff!

The sketch of your grandmother is fantastic. It's a shame she couldn't see it. You've nailed the mood and her character through your lines, but really push those darks. We're all seeing too much grey here.

The perspective's a bit off in the piano sketch.

Watch that arm - the front arm looks like it's pointing towards us (judging from the folds and shading), and if that were the case, the forearm would point backwards unless painfully forced to do otherwise.
Also, I'd suggest using a different colour to 'outline' paintings rather than using black. Maybe the colour of the table/tablecloth or complimentary colours (you've got some yellow, green-yellow and red goin' on there, so you could hit the bg with purple/red-violet/green to make them pop out )

I like how you always add a graphicy factor to your sketches to make them stand out more. Unfortunately, the background is overshadowing the foreground atm as it has: a.) greater contrast; and b.) darker tones than the main feature. If you shaded in some parts so that they're much darker, and at least have some parts match the same tone as the bg, or even darker, it would stand out so much more.

    Here's a paintover:

No ref, so the lighting's probably shite, haha.

I love the one on the bottom left. Gorgeous, flowing movement. You marked the right lines at the right places. Great!! ^__^b

Nice updates. It'd be interesting to see a 'finished' piece from you.

    Excellent, Sean - keep going!!

    Hey dude

really nice line you have going here. Brush up on your shading a bit - remember we do not depict shadows, we use them to depict. Also these sketches are feeling pretty small - don't let the edges of your paper inhibit your drawing, if necessary draw on larger paper even if you don't actually draw your subjects bigger.

Overall fantastic drawing mate - ciao!

I like the pencil sketches you have here, they convery a certain mood that I like.

As others have said, I would like to see a finished piece from you.

Also I Really like the girl with the green shirt picture. I think thats the best you have in this thread so far.

demented: ok thanks, i was using a small sketchbook there because a4 isnt so easy to carry around all the time. i only use the a5 when i'm out in town.

Oddmind: thanks. im not a fan of digital because it makes things too easy.. mistakes are erased with the click of a button.. doesnt really breed precision or anything.. but there will be more digi stuff soon

ok.. im trying more non-ref anatomy here.. id be showing you guys more after a two day haitus but the stuff i'm working on is mostly unfinished. i was told to do more finished stuff, right? im going to completely rework the digital painting of the woman with snakes.. i really should have done a sketch on paper first. it looks terrible

miguelslo: thanks man. actually, its a duck badger monkey.
orionterron99: sorry man.. i dont know what stm nocturne is... the wip is ok but i could do a lot better so im reworking it completely. dont be afraid to make deeper comments just because you dont think you're that level.. take the plunge, go with your instincts.. art is all about feeling, right??

just one sp today.. everything else is still WIP. i straightened my hair, hence the difference... ok its not too good but im happy cause i did it real quick and its not awful

I think the shape of the last one is fine, more detail might reveal actual issues around the shoulder and knee but w/o rendering any more I can't pick on it

    OldNoodle: I know, what a rip-off. Lol

tie, the first thing I feel stood out to me is that his shoulders ought to be more defined (but you're probably gonna do that anyway), other than that I think if you increase the contrast a bit and you're sweet.

n1va: thanks very much, will do
    oldnoobie: er..
jeri: thx for the continued support mate.. hope you stick around. thanks, yeah, the shoulders {in fact the large majority of that thing} are unfinished. the contrast is a bit greater in real life, so the scanner is robbing some of its greatness.. but then i just feel like im cheating if i change the contrast in ps..
