very nice stuff. Keep at it. Try doing a sketch focusing on design, composition and style. At the same time, work on anatomy, light and the things you find hardest.

Keep your mind open. Nice work!!

sup tie, this is good stuff which you have already heard and i am sure you are aware of. man when i was 15 i was in fights and being shady graff'n shite... hehe no real focus... but now hah

    ________
ok so i feel i should crit you since you are putting time and effort in.

    1. - ok it seems to me the first thing i notice is your perspective is off, that is why it seems you are having trouble with rotating the skull. if you want i can do some quick demos and post them for you. since you want to do concept workl you should start now with perspective so you can be killer and take my job.

    2. - it seems that you copy what you see and not really think about what is doing in space ene somehting like quick sketching a dood out in the park you should understand its relationship with its enviroment and so on. don't become a slave to what is in front of you.

    3. - you line work is kind of messy, and i know this b/c i did and still do when i am trying to figure things out as i draw.

    4. - you friend in the chair is a good series of studies and has alot of good things going on but all i really see is flat shapes with some lines for folds and hair. it is good work and i like it graphically but there is really any depth, besides th one where he is standing and you placed value in.

good work tho! these are things i noticed and i know this is just sketchbook thread, but i think everyone can always use crits, i know i always appreciate it when every possible. well good luck and let me know if you want any quick demos on the stuff i talked about or anything else. adios

First off, your best friend is my doppleganger because he looks just like me =P
I love your hands gestures. Your line work is really great, and you have a great eye for masses and shape reading. Just keep at it man, I see huge improvement in your update =D

    hey Tie,

for 15 yrs old you are definitely ahead, but don't let this get to you, keep drawing. focus a lot on foundation studies, these will pay off in few years down the track. Keep it going!

    cheers,

    Min

old sketches of some classmate's faces. not particularly great but it looks like the people themselves, at least. also you can see my gym teacher from the back... albeit not well

sketch of some kids in the class. totally messed it up. the perspective, everything. but it helped me realise a few things

Hey man! Thxs for popping up at my SB and for your advice. You got some cool linework and some skills. I keep on asking this to everyone, but, gives the sketches more quality when rendering. Which type of pencils do you use for shading and stuff?

Ill keep an eye on your SB.

    Hey tie!!
It's really nice to see some one els this young working on an active level with his sketchbook! I would probobably work on my lines if I were you. Think of where to place each line to make it work nicely. Draw mucho mucho from life and study the things around you!

    keep it up!

@krakel: hey i didnt take it offensively. peace!

@dirty_c: thanks.. hands are the only things i have a constant supply and a good view of, hehe

    @ogsoon: np.. thanks

@jtheanswer: for shading and everything else i generally use a 0.005 mechanical pencil with varying leads, but mostly HB. no problem with asking questions, i should ask more too actually

@tigermilk: thanks. i'm kind of rough with my lines because i do things rather quickly and i want to get my basic shapes and shadings and things down first. i feel like concentrating on lines is something i can do later, but thanks for the suggestion. i'll try!

a not very well thought out attempt at sketching a rough male anatomy purely from memory. i did learn quite a few things though, so if you can point out some more errors, that'd really help, thanks

i went back to my old 'dragon lord' sketch and changed it a bit using ref. will change it some more then ink and get rid o that crap shading. must work on that face, lol

    yo, yo.

loads of hands. done very quickly, mind the lines. went over it again so it didn't smudge quickly. a cookie if you can figure out what they spell out

random girl character i did in maths class. i really need to get better at character drawings. in hindsight i messed this up very badly by making it long etc. but it was really just a scribble anyway

    will endeavour to update regularly

    Hey!,

Just wanted to say Hi as I saw your post in the UK forums. You're like a month older than I am...weird. This sketchbook is awesome and I'm glad you know what you need to be doin'. Your life drawings are very inspiring and I think I need to get re-aquainted.
Are you doing your GCSEs now? I just wanted to ask how you fit in the time for art and still mange to do coursework, revision for mocks and what not?

Glad I found this sketchbook, keep at it, and stay in touch with this site!

    blog: hi

i'll be honest, i only have the time to do this art because i'm not bothered to do any coursework or revision. i'm probably going to fail everything, even though my given target grades are straight A's. out of all my coursworks, i've only been bothered to do the science and ICT ones and i'm not even good at science!

i'm not taking an art gcse by the way. i don't know why, i just chose more boring subjects over art. ones that i'm failing in, lol.

    anyway, that's enough about me.
thanks for the feedback, maybe i'll meet you one day!
