whoa whoa whoa Sean, that's some impressive rendering on those pencil drawings, I like them all. Something I haven't put my finger on until now for some reason is your line drawing, and how I think it could be better. I'd like to see some lines with more weight, to emphasize the darker parts of the scene/characters without actually shading. plus it's sometimes cool to just throw in bold lines where they don't belong. Also It would be cool to see you try to draw lighting in with a white pencil on a shaded or non-shaded piece on grey/yellow paper, it would work well for you.

Also do you ever draw humans from your head? that would be cool to see.

You've shaded the teeth really nicely, I wanna see the rest of that double headed guy's body.

more digital please. and keep updating

Man, your observational drawings are great. I really love the style of this one and the train journey ones too. The anatomy you draw from your head is a little inconsistent sometimes, but it seems to me to have gotten way better since you started this sketchbook, so keep going with it. I think the ones that you take your time over and develop with rendering really come to life, so lets see more of that! Also, it would be good to see some more drawings of animals or places, because this has to be one of my favourites from your sb. Great stuff, well done

simple pencil line stuff looks great, and the hatching style of rendering seems to be a bit at odds with that, not sure if thats a bad or an interesting thing, ight be something worth exploring....? anyway, nice stuff.

yooo, i'm shit at critting other people like i said but i'll try, new dump was nice, i love this one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...4&d=1245284723 , really confident lines that I'd wish you'd keep in your value drawings, i think you're going abit over the top with the rendering and its destroying all your line work underneath. i guess this might be your intention for these to focus purely on value/lighting but i think i'd like to see somewhere between the middle of both. maybe scan in your lines and work on top with PS?

hope some of this makes sense.

hot shit man very hot shit, not many crits other than This rendering most of it is very good, but your not looking at cast shadows on the arm, its done nigh on perfectly on the chest, but the muscles on the arm aren't putting each-other into shade, armpit is too light, think about how shapes blend into the background, unless you wanted it to look more like a mass of cable? i could be wrong, now if you'll excuse me, i have to get drawing tigers. xxxxx

jim: yeah, i hear the crits on the arm and i could see it myself after i scanned, just havent got round to fixing it yet

Great work as usual man!! Liking the commuting sketch-studies, nice linework going on there. The rendering is a looking good too, though it might help to watch your feature placement and proportion though on those faces.

    Keep up the great work!

Mate, I know nothing about drawing, but I know that your stuff is fantastic. I always hear the term "nice lines" and I reckon I now get what that means after seeing some of your drawings. Didn't have time to go through the whole book but Ill be back for sure. Thanks for showing.

    jigje: aw sweetie
thegnoll: yeah...i think someone else mightve said that....that or i just keep rereading ur comment. either way the super-rendered stuff is only practise really to solidify my rendering skills...hooded demon thing is more economical, ull be seeing more of both in the future
quike: heh thanks man yeah im starting to play with textures...very fun

ok past few days been working on the comic and really been busting my nut with trying to nail weaknesses in my quick pencil drawings. some anatomical problems, others with weight/gesture/rhythm etc..... heres a couple d00dles to keep u warm XXX

I like where your heading mate your rendering has definitely improved over last couple of pages that i checked out and I am enjoying your designs with the demons the repetition is going well try and adjust the sizes of the repetition a bit more, one thing i can suggest is when your sticking with just line work pay a bit more attention to line weight it always helps pop the aspects you want the viewer to seek in on. Later mate good work!

Thanks man for stopping by my sketch book. Thanks for the advice. I got bored doing pages of anatomy studies. Your renderings are awesome. The line sensitivity...and values. The only advice I can give is to keep on drawing.

I'm out to conquer the world equipped with a pencil, digital paint and a Sketchbook
and when I do achieve that goal...I'll conquer the moon too

Wicked sketchbook. I could learn a lot from your pencil rendering and your creature designs are awesome. I like the image of the huge creature and the little girl back in post 301, did you ever finish it? I'm from an illustration background myself and love stuff like that with an intriguing story behind it.
