gugg - Thanks Joel. I don't consider myself a professional illustrator by any stretch of the imagination. More like a professional designer who can kinda draw, but I try to sneak in some illos at work when I can.

Kemp - Thanks brotha man. I'll be waiting eagerly for that IM from the past, hehe.

    katsgod - Thanks for looking!

Here's some new doodly stuff (surprise!)

nice man. sneaky, graphic designer by day, artist by night. seems to be workin out though I really like your influence of graphic design incorporated into your artwork.

its pretty funny to contrast the stuff you did for work with the stuff you do for fun.

ohhhhhhh! snap on all you "designers"!
don't forget endregan, design is crucial to making successful compositions and pieces... some of the best illustrators or "artists" have backgrounds in design.

not to hijack yer thread janu, just gettin my 2 cents in
I really like the observational stuff man, and it's nice to see you playing with making design elements out of your drawrings.... there's definite improvement and growth with each batch. word holmes!!

Janu, I seem to not be able to connect to my favorite site, flipvertical.com. Interesting. I wonder if it's due to designer negligence. Hmmmm.

    I'll update if you do...

    Heeeey...I'm still kinda here

Well it's my monthly CA visit, hehe.

endregan - Thanks man. Yeah, the illos for work are a bit...dry. Any practice is good though, so it's all good.

    fooxoo - Thanks!

cotron - Cody why the hell are you hijacking my thread!??!?!?! Hehe, just kidding. Thanks dude.

gugg - Yeah the updates are few and far between lately. Thanks for checking in. I won't be making it to Montreal, hope you have a good time tho.

strych - Um yeah...I was planning yet another overhaul. I decided to separate the more corporate work and uh..the stuff with titties into 2 different sites which are still in the works. In other words, you're right, designer negligence.

Dougbot - Thanks man! Coming from you, that made my day.

Here's a thing I was doodling on a notepad during a work meeting. I liked it enough to scan it in and mess with it a bit.

I have some fucked up shit from meetings... ass-goblins, chicken-man monsters, more things to do with asses and monsters. Good shit.

I actually got the same recommendation from a potential employer, seperate my design from art because my art was scaring hr. Time to get my ass on that as well..

That last one is daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn cool. Shit! Can I back out now. Seriously cool, awesome design. It's the kind of stuff I love, Moebius and Terrada, but not. Y'know, totally your own, but in the same vein. Very cool.

    true. and. true.

Groove that paint you are working up from the notepad is looking so hot and nice!...good job with the color selection...looking so devious and evil. keep up the fantastic work, and try dropping back by a tiny lil' (Don't you just hate that abbreviation?) bit more often! monthly update PPPSSSHA!

just dropping by... hey i like your simple pen sketches, think you should do more since they will help from overworking your lines like is the case with graphite or ballpoint i'm the king of run-on sentences oh yes!

Kemp - Hehe, that would be a good karaoke song. Hey dude, I'm gonna give you a call this week. There's a chance I might come up.

Codytron - Thanks money. Yeah, meetings are so mind numbing (at least here), I dunno how they produce drawings but they always do.

Cody9ne - Hehe, yeah I think I've seen a couple of those ass monsters in your SB. I don't draw anything near as uh...assy and everyone still thinks I'm weird. Go figure. And yeah dude, I think making separate sites is definitely a good idea. Some people don't (openly) like drawings with titties.

Dougbot - Thanks man! Again, that means a lot coming from you. Loved your tdome entries.

Joel - Thanks man. I actually made it a little before a month this time, hehe.

Lukavi - Thanks dude. Yeah it kinda looks like I'm lazy. Not really though, honest, I'm just lazy about posting

Steve - Thanks dude. Definitely want to keep things a lot cleaner and I need to watch out for overworking stuff.

Slash - Thanks man. Yeah I'm sure that's where I got that idea from. I loves me some Miyazaki. Except Howl's, which I thought kinda sucked. Don't hate me Miyazaki fans!

Well here's some new stuff I've been playing around with

Seattle vs. SoCal tdome where Dougbot crushed me under his heel! The topic was "A boy and his dog"

    Detail

Inks tweaked in photoshop and painter

    Original inks on bristol

Some discarded ideas for the tdome

Other weird ideas for the tdome. If you look at the middle of the page you should see a boy wanting to throw a frisbee with his dog, but the dog is too busy reading what's supposed to be the communist manifesto...yeah...in the bottom I was toying with the idea of a portrait of a boy and his dog with both of them looking happy but the boy's arm is all chewed up and the dog's mouth is bloody.

Random ink sketch and some colors in photoshop

Also, for anyone who's interested, I have some graphic design stuff up in a new site www.steadycreative.com

Still have to add a bunch of stuff up, but the basic layout is up there.

    Thanks for looking!

Yeah BOIIIII, nice site design man. Layout is great, all the thumbs on one page, no clicking around to seventeen pages to get to the goodies (ahem...). Might want to change the wording a bit in the about me section, you sound like Groovertron 3000 with all of those "I" statements.

Last two pieces you posted up here are fantastic, the simple linework on the hands reminds me a bit of Tomer Hanuka.

Man, my site needs a redesign.

Hehe, thanks bro. Yeah that's a lot of "I" deallies. Once I think up something better I'll put it up.

Here's some more meeting doodles. Started to play with colors a bit.

Jens - Thanks man. It's great seeing the progression of your stuff also

gugg - Thanks Joel. Trying to post a little more often.

I'm calling this finished (+ a detail shot).

    Recursive_End - Thanks man! I'm flattered

Sirio_Brozzi - Thanks! Awesome avatar btw.

dCepT - Hey man, thanks! I added those last minute and liked the way they look . Btw, dunno if I already mentioned it but I finally saw Mirrormask. Great eyecandy. The story didn't kick my ass as much as I expected but it was still ok.
