There are some awesome images in here! Very cool.

For me, as a 2D animator, pencil tests are what inspire me most. Here are a few of my favorites:

Bael, na artist from UK. I really love the grace of his figures, the thin black lines ans the absence of Strong colors. Does anyone knows more artists like him?

James Duffield Harding (1798 – 4 December 1863) Put out a number of very successful books on landscape drawing which are still in print today. For those people looking for a good grounding in environment fundamentals you can't really beat this information.

I love the whipped up dust and the wind in this image - reminds me of in old films like Waterloo and War and Peace at the battle scenes when a hellish wind seems to be blowing giving some symbolic sense of struggle - armies of old like forces of nature - I believe this is Wojciech Kossaks Zorndorf painting - even the name of the village is evocate - Zorndorf - Zorn being german for Wrath

One of the few below-ground cemeteries in New Orleans:
Post some images that inspire you.

Doesn't seem like much to look at, but the place has character. Also, you know what they say about bodies being buried in swampland? Well, they do come back up, and if you go there after a rainstorm it is likely to find examples like these:
Post some images that inspire you.
Post some images that inspire you.
Basically this is where the poor of New Orleans bury their dead. In some ways visiting and seeing the bones that have surfaced feels like I'm invading their privacy. This cemetery is not like the pompous above-ground affairs of the affluent families in New Orleans; those are meant to be seen, proud in their opulence, despite the decay brought on by their age.

Post some images that inspire you.

But anyway, there's a lot to be seen around this town. Hopefully will post some of my pics soon, just can't from my work computer and have little time when I'm at home.

I'm curious as to whether anyone can recommend any other artists like Moebius (ie. colorful, intricate artists working with surreal sci-fi/fantasy occult themes)?
