Brussels Miniworkshop Art thread
Post your drawings made in the Brussels Miniworkshop here (or, a selection if you like)
I haven't done a whole lot of drawing, apart from my TD piece obviously, and the running around organising stuff.. but i'll get scanning right away anyways..
I'll also take some more pics of the massive opencanvas thing we did

I'll borrow a digicam so i can get the bigger stuff online. Loved the longer Lifedrawing poses, what an opportunity. Got some good stuff from that, let's hope i can get good quality pictures.

some scans from the sketchbook:
dragon ornaments from the Chinese paviljoen
dino skeleton studies at the nature museum (hanging with kartoffel and dorian)
same museum, ice age creatures
bought a set of LOVELY karisma pencils.. testing them right here
doodled up sitting in the big market square, with K and D. got checked by cops. no anal probes this time
some thumbnails made at the "beach".. some of them inspired by watching a fly on the toilet...
this was for the Warmachine mini thunderdome we had.. collaboration with my main bunnyhat-man bizarre. real life opencanvas is almost sexier than rela life sex. almost.
... more to come later!

Beautiful efforts, everyone!
The slugs made me laugh and go "Ewwwwww!" at the same time! Great slime rendering, is all I have to say...ewwwww!
Looks like you all had a great time.
Hyver, what were you doing that you got checked by the cops? Drawing bombs, or acting like a religious fanatic with pencils and a sketchpad? Or was is just some random thing, where the cops just would stop and question whoever they might trip upon, here and there, on their rounds?
"Careful, I have a pencil, and I know how to use it!" (Now there's a weird sig quote...)

Heres a selection of what I did:
a box-folding robot
The japanese tower...
Trying out my new pen. Plus I kind of tried to imitate floris...
A house in Bruxelles
I did this together with Dorian (and some input from Cookiedough) for our mini-thunderdome ("Cathedral on mars"). We even got one vote
Plus some Dinosaurs here: http://web390.server2.dce4u.de/pics/dino.html

So I will add my stuff, too. I didn´t draw much beside the model sutff because I was too busy talking and partying (and waving metal around), anyway here are some results.
Lifedrawings with pastel chalks (or whatever it is I´m using):
My first try with charcoal:
More lifedrawings with pencil and coloured pencils:
1 minute gestures:
Further 1 minute gestures:
And to the end 2 minutes poses:
At least an ornament from the chinese pavillion and my entry for our mini-TD warmachine
<Insert witty remark here>

I wish i could have stayed longer - the nature museum stuff looks nice. Some good drawings dorian, really nice stuff. The clean contours kind of remind me of Klimt. Way to go.
Fipse, i wanted to look at your stuff all weekend and never got around to it. You're right you really got better along the evening. One thing to look out for, i think you started to get into some habits. Some of that is good, for instance it seems you really think about the gestures and it shows that you have a solid amount of knowledge backing up your drawings. Some, well you probably know about them already and laughed when i mentioned the habits. You have a tendency to put down those things you know like you're writing someone a letter, and you write down all the positions you see.
Let me put it like this, you could learn more about the form if you worked on the handwriting. I'm not going to lecture you on the habit of drawing contour lines repeatedly, i do that myself often enough. What i do sometimes is that i do all of that stuff very lightly. You can just go on drawing the way you're used to, just move the pencil as lightly as possible. I sometimes go over my drawings with a kneaded eraser until they're almost not visible anymore.
Then when you're be done with the drawing, try to draw the contours as clean as when you'd ink the image, and put them down boldly so they are clearly visible against the light sketch you did first. The most important part is that you look carefully at the contour and try to put every little change into the picture. No matter how small, try to write down every dip and bump you see.
Kartoffel, i like the box folding robot, fun stuff. The japanese tower looks good as well. Maybe you could find a lifedrawing course near you, i don't know if you've been to one before, but it's the best drawing exercise you can get. Your drawings are not bad, they're just lacking the tangible appeal you get from life drawing classes.
