one of the funniest thing ive seen was a guy that looked super hard walking the tiniest dog ive ever seen shouting at it "get back lucifer" like it was going to go on a rampage and kill about 10 people.

so if its a fluffy litte black cat id go for satan.

and ofcourse he needs to be addressed by his full title, every time.

I'd go with Bosco. And if that doesn't fit, I'd call him oliver.
And no, I don't know why I'd choose those. +1

Attaching titles to pets is always fun- for example, my pets have been named Corporal Cockbag, Mister Sparkle, Captain Insano, etc. etc.

I knew someone who named their black dog Noche, Spanish for night. Seems to me it would also work for a cat.

We named our last black cat Ninja. Ninja loved tomatoes and other vegetables, even to the point of walking away from cat food for a scrap of tomato. When Ninja died we buried him in the spot we eventually put a raised garden and planted a bunch of tomato plants. We're getting the best yield from those plants we have ever had.

    Other names:

    Licorace
    Brimstone
    Shadow
    Onyx
    Tar

My cat is named "cat", sometimes "killer" (I think it's like 5 housebirds and 2 wild birds at last count), and when we fed him too much its "fatass".

Your cat's not going to come when you call it anyways...

yeah a kitty thread! haha im truly a cat lover--we have two currently, gray tabby(stinky) and pure breed abysinnian(ferris). yeah people laugh at us calling our cat stinky...which he was when he was a kitten, hahaha. the name just stuck. and ferris b/c he has an untamed heart and is mischievous(like ferris bueller!). i always go by a trait/character they have...it usually takes me forever

(and my cats totally come when called their name, and usually a reply like "meooooow" as if saying "whaaaaaaaat??" ...)

I trained my cat like a dog. I pat my lap, he will fly (practically) from anywhere in the house to me. And.. well whenever i open a can he also flies to me.

It has been my experience that cats are thoroughly uncivilized beasts. They take what they want, when they want it, and pretend to be your friend so you'll do things for them. They're waiting for you to die so they can eat you. They're little furry sociopaths. Call it Ted Bundy.

You could look for names within areas that interest you, examples such as names from mythology, legend, fairytales, history, and real life experiences..

Just look to your life, what interests you in it, or experiences that were memorable. Get a notebook paper and just brainstorm names and ideas and things you like writing quickly words and thoughts. Something will come to you.

My first cat's name was originally Ashes, but come on...how gay is that? So I renamed it...to Skitty Kitty. He eventually became Bonks and Asshat.

My next cat's name was Lucy...but once again. I now call it Boo kitty, or dumb ass.

I have a black cat named Raven.
My parents have two black cats (that were also mine until I moved out) called Shadow and Jinx.

I also like the names Coal and Ash. None of these are very origional but they fit their personalities.

    here's Shadow and Raven:

what the hell am i going to call my cat?

I don't think you can pick a name before you get the cat

a friend of mine called his kitten Edward Von Shmoo (a lot of cool things rhyme with Shmoo ). loved the thing. it then grew so sadistic and rotten he palmed it off to his nanna. poor old lady.. that thing was evil!
