*** Live Painting Demo !!! *** UPDATE; re: ticket purchase!

    all right guys!
do not let this one fall through the cracks!

    on saturday, september 10th,
there will be a live painting "jam session"
at the Society of Illustrators, nyc

6 artists will produce dozens of paintings... collaboratively!
each person working over/on top of the other's.

    BROM
    RICK BERRY
    GREG MANCHESS
    JUSTIN SWEET
    DONATO GIANCOLA
DAN DOS SANTOS ( thats me )

all the paintings will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to the
Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Fund!

every year the s.i. Student Scholarship Fund donates tens of thousands of dollars to art students all across the country.
possibly there are people here who have won it before!

this event will tie in with Spectrum: The Exhibition
(thats the day before, also not to be missed!)
    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47182

artsits are flying in from all over for this...
so if you live anywhere near NYC, i expect you there!
seats are limited, so dont be late!

If I win the lottery... I'll be there with bells on or something... otherwise I'm going to go sit in a corner and rock back and forth.

Sounds awesome, and a rare thing to get to witness.

    well, you can visit:
    societyillustrators.org
    for more info on directions.

    as to where to stay...
    N.Y. is pricy.
best bet is to split a room with someone, or to crash at a friends.

    fortunately,
donato is throwing a pajama party! everyones invited!
    just kidding!

There will be three easels going at once. 6 artists swapping in and out.

Rick Berry has done this king of thing in the past and says that we will probably go through about 15 paintings. Not full on fully rendered type stuff - this is meant to be very loose. Very much about the process of painting and sharing ideas.

I just got a reply back saying the tickets are 30$?

is that true? The poster says 10$ for students and 20$ for non-students.

    hito,
    reply from who?
    irene?

you might be confusing this with the spectrum exhibit.
    that exhibit is free,
though, the opening reception for the exhibit is $30 a head.
    (thats for food & stuff)
    thats the day before this.

this one is indeed $10 for students.

Word of warning: Spectrum tickets are only for contributing artists. Sorry about that. It's only because of space issues.

The ART OUT LOUD event is open to all, first come, first serve. $10.00 students. 20.00 non students. It's a fund raiser for the Society's Student scholarship fund, so feel good about ponying up.

Stylistically, it's a pretty strange mix...which makes it all the more interesting. (Although I have threatened to keep a "time-out" corner. )

I'm working too fast. I should have been clearer about this.

The opening reception is by invite only. THE RUN OF THE EXHIBIT IS FREE. Come early and come often! The best way to have more shows like Spectrum is to see the place crowded each day.
